Either they were trying to make the new concept look great at the 69's expense and said it knowing this anyway, or just didnt know. Its a great concept they didnt need to say that...

Re: try again
The front needs work alright but not for the reasons posted. The grill is just terrible and the whole bumper could look better.

Re: try again
ugh, why do kris horton's designs come up time and time again? They look horrible. It's like Hot Wheels did some consulting work for him or something. They're entirely too cartoon-y.
The Camaro Concept is an outstanding vehicle, and a more than worthy successor to the Camaro heritage.

Re: try again
BTW - aerodynamically speaking, the center of the hood is about the worst damned place on the car to put what is hoped to be a functional scoop... I imagine facing them backwards inside the trunk would be worse... but not by much.
Given the more sloped front ends of modern cars, the center of the hood isn't as bad as it used to be... but it still isn't ideal.
"Cowl Induction" systems were on the cowl because they actually work there.

Re: try again
Ok seriously, you guys were probably drooling all over Kris's renderings when they first started circulating. Don't give me that "there wasn't anything else at the time" bs either, if it had looked like cr@p it would have been labeled that whether there was anything else around or not. Sure after 3+ years they are showing their age, but that does not make them bad. Also keep in mind that Kris was 19 when he did those, was going to school, and did them for fun. He has come a long way since then.
Even with that aside, you guys try to design something better. I like the Camaro Concept, I like it a lot, but there is no reason to rip on Kris's early versions.
Sorry I had to vent.

Re: try again
I dont think anyone is picking on them..but they are 3 years old..when they came out it was a WOW factor..and yes they are awsome..
BUT
remember when Terminator 2 came out and we were like WOW the CGI is awsome..then Star Wars came out with really nice CGI thats lightyears ahead of T2..same kinda idea..
we say CH design and its was like WOW awsome..but after 3 years, its still a great car, but you gotta look at it with the real 5th gen concept now staring at you.

Re: try again
and on top of it yes there wasnt anything like it at the time, he was one of a few that actually knew how to make what he made with that software. It was new and exciting to see a "real" car out of imagination, no one was doing it really before him..thats how he got his name really.

Anyway, I have just been seeing a lot more people say that they are "ugly" or "crap" and/or that they are sick of seeing them. I understand that many people just like the real concept better, I do too, from what he has posted Kris likes it better also. It is good that people like the real one better. Though I would seriously question the employment of those professional designers if they were not able to design a better Camaro than a 19yr old that was going to school 3+ years ago. It just irritates when people don't say "I like the Camaro Concept better than that one" and instead say
It was cool because at the time there were no other concepts, but damn it is ****in ugly. Especially compared to the real concept.
Well, back on subject. So let me get this straight nova70zz4. You don't like that it is angular, you don't like the grill, you don't want the nose to be plastic, or all three?

Exactly, butttttt..........the leading edge of the hood on most cars is also a pressurized area. Where the concept has its scoop technically is not a bad place at all.......aero depending!
