They might. That size (275/40/20) is a new size for that tire.

This is a very old thread, and those were early engineering test cars. They put the tow hitch on there so that they can pull a small trailer full of parts and tools, and so that they can stress-test the car in a towing situation, which I guarantee you at least some people are crazy enough to try on the production version.

I've seen a Corvette pulling an AirStream before...
