A twist with Jason E's thread...
We all agree that the majority would keep their cars AND purchase a new Camaro, but what about the Mustang boys? How many of them, do you think, will get rid of their little ponies for real performance in the Camaro?

I wonder how many Camaro guys have turned to Mustang since 2002? Probably the only Mustang owners to turn to Camaro would be the guys who were originally Camaro guys to begin with.

This is a *great* question, and one GM should have considered. Although brief, there was a moment in which I considered purchasing a Cobra. I actually took my '02 SS to the Ford dealership and test drove a vert Cobra. I wasn't impressed - at all actually. I liked the SS better. Period.
I am sure there are many who made the switch to the Blue Oval...until about a year ago, it didn't look as if GM was going to revive the Camaro.

I doubt many. The 5.4SC will be out by then.
Funny how right after the f-body ended mustang suddenly did something they hadn't done it 20 years. They made a very powerful 03-04 mustang(aka the cobra)
Wonder if that was perfectly planned to pull f-body owners to the Ford side when they knew they would be looking for something with as much performance as the 02 z28?
Then once they converted the ones they could they stopped making the SC Cobra which is a warrenty nightmare hoping the retro style could carry the number alone.
Now that the Camaro will be coming back the mustang will get a 5.4SC.
Hmmmmmmmm Ford either is playing this perfectly or has great luck with timing.

when i helped my dad get the roush for himself and my mother we had to debate if we could wait till the camaro came out. WE decided we will one day get a stronger tranny and a procharger to make the stang 500hp. Then i may sell my truck. My dad is already starting to save and we will both get the new camaros and give the roush to my mother (500hp vert for the mom LOL)

Originally we went with Grand Am GT when the Camaro was cancelled. With very little hope in site, the next car was an 04 mustang GT. The lure of RWD V8 was too much after living through a '76, '80 and 94 Camaro's we had to get back to the RWD. NOW...........I hope to atone for the error of my ways!!

That was what I was thinking. I believe there will be quite a few Mustang trade-ins for Camaros.
