Not exactly. I like power leather seats.

I want a Z06 version of the Camaro. I think that car should be called Z28.

But should a Z28 ever be "tame"? I know they were somewhat tame at times in the past, but with today's generation of performance cars, should that still be the case?

I didn't mean it should be "tame", but tame enough to sell to a large enough demographic to validate the car's existence to GM. Much in the same way that the z06 is "tame" enough to account for 20% of all c6 sales. The 1LE could carry the z28 package further; to what most people would not be able to tolerate, to appease the really hardcore fans, or the guys who might actually race the cars.

I own a Firebird and don't particularly care and could present an argument either way. However, if SS ever goes on the Corvette I will cry

How about: I own a Z28 and I don't care as long as they bring it back. How about they just call it an IROC and be done with it.

Re: A twist on the Z28 vs SS debate

All SS's are Z28's. All z28's are not SS's.

Hasn't it always been this way? Don't try to rewrite history. You're just going to confuse people.

"How come back then, the SS was the superior car, but now it's rubbish? Just a fillter inbetween the Z28?"
- "Son, it's because those Z28 fanboys on CamaroZ28.com (RIP) wouldn't shut up about it. They boycotted the Camaro until GM gave in. That's why GM reported record profits of the camaro in 2012"

And I've "owned" an IROC-Z and a 2nd/4th gen SS

No. In fact it was only that way from 96-2002.

Re: A twist on the Z28 vs SS debate

Maybe the question is:
which does the public feel should be top dog?

I think everyone knows what SS indicates. Of course alot of trucks sport a z71 tag on them, so there is recongnition for the Z badge.

The only conclusion I can come to is: zSS or S/28

This poll sucks! What if you own both an SS and a Z28?? Then I can't vote!

I disagree. While there should be a performance Camaro that meets that demographic [cough]SS[/cough], there still needs to be a *****-out road race Camaro for the minority that chooses to go that route [cough]Z28[/cough].
