If it's pronounced right it does

Don't take it out on the poor computer just cause you can't take being corrected after all these years of saying words incorrectly.

HaHa Just pickin', please don't take offense.

Ok, while I've heard of the camaero thing. I've NEVER heard anyone say language that way.

How do you get lane? The Lang is pronounced the same as Hang. LOL At least you have the 2nd syllable correct. LOL It's obviously very common for people to mispronounce the various uses of the letter A in your area.

Lemme help ya out.

That's how you say it. LOL I have the power of the dictionary behind me, I can't be beat! :::beats chest::: LOL

are you trying to say that lane - gwidge would be pronounced different than lang - widge ?

Well, how do you say hang or rang or clang? It shouldn't sound like 'haing' or 'raing' or 'claing'. How else can I say it.. How would you say 'lan'? It certainly wont' sound like 'lane'.

It just sounds (well, not sound per se') to me that you (or at least your area) put a very nasal sound to your A's. If you listened to the bit from merriam-webster you heard how language is pronounced. And there's no 'lane' sound invovled.

Watch an episode of Smallville and listen to how they pronounce Lana Lang's name. It's the same, just with 'widge' after it. It doesn't sound anything like Lois Lane's last name (which is the way your saying it in language).

on the same token, language isn't pronounced "lan - qwij." In that respect, lan would sound like "lan" (local area network type of lan).

I agree the use of 'lan' as an example wasn't the best. I just couldn't think of a way to get it across.

The use of Rang Clang and Hang are the best way for me to get it acros.

Say Clang-uage and you'll have it. LOL Then leave the C off next time.

Unfortunately I can't expand on this, I have to be off to work. The prison can not survive without me. LOL JK

I speak enough Spanish to know how it would be pronounced if it were a Spanish word. But it's not (although I believe there is a Spanish word of the same spelling). It's an americanized French word.

thats right and us Americans know the correct way to pronounce it. People from crazy talk land, like EllwynX, are silly with their funny talk. I bet he needs a passport (pass - pore - t) to come to the US.

anyhow, I've had a blast proving EllwynX wrong

I hope you can see that I like to antagonize people. I really do respect everyone's opinion. Even when they are wrong like EllwynX
