thats right and us Americans know the correct way to pronounce it. People from crazy talk land, like EllwynX, are silly with their funny talk. I bet he needs a passport (pass - pore - t) to come to the US.

I on the other hand have quoted the dictionary, rules of English AND offered a personal recording to prove my argument.
Oh, and a couple years ago I had a Canadian friend say 'Camaro' as it would be in French. And she said it the same as me, only she kinda rolled her tongue on the R. Further proof. hehe We Americanized it by removing the tongue roll that's it.
I just realized something, I have a friend that lives in Ventura, CA. I remember her saying it the same strange way you do. It must be a West Coast thing. It's ok, I still love CA. Liberal Democrat State.
