I kinda like saying "SS" more than "Z28" so I kinda hope the "lower end" car is the SS

Very, very awesome! Though I hope the weight is closer to the 3600 lb. mark than the 3800. also, I don't care which is the top end anymore, I just want the SC (since I can't have an LS-7 ) bad ***** in my driveway!

Had to refresh 3 times to actually see it. The website probably only allows a certain number of max connections at a time.

About time they put up video! It's hot. Probably be even hotter with real headlights.

Thats awesome!!!!!

I wish they would get a pic driving over the banking transition like Nissan did to make it appear the car is pulling the left front real high.

Sounds beautiful. I got the unable to connect message and left it and it started a few seconds later. I am tired of Edmunds reporting incorrectly that the SS will be top dog. Nice video either way.

Do you feel that way because of how the last few years of the 4th gen played out?

Not one person in the "winkie club" has ever hinted that the SS would be the top model. Every single one of them pointed to the Z/28, and just recently Charlie has been mentioning that the Z/28 has a special team working on it, just like the Z06. There's much more evidence that the Z/28 will be the top model, and there's NO evidence that the SS will take the spot.

The only reason some people (and none of them are "in the know") think the SS will be the top model is because of the last few years of the 4th gen lineup. They ignore the Camaro's entire lifespan, where the Z/28 was the top model for the vast majority of the Camaro's run.

The entire lifespan? You forgot the 1st gen.

I don't think there were any SS Camaros at all in the third generation. I could be wrong...

In the 3-year run of the 1st gen (the shortest generation in Camaro's lifespan), the Z/28 was created for homolagation purposes so it would qualify for the Trans Am series. It was a limited-production race car for the street. It was a corner-carver.

The SS cars were the mainstream V8 models. They were street cars. They were built more to go fast in a straight line.

The 1st gen Z/28 and SS cars had different missions, and therefore, cannot really be compared directly to ascertain which was the "top" model. However, because of its race-bred heritage and low production numbers, I'd say the Z/28 would qualify more for that spot than the SS cars.

Not only were there no SS Camaros in the third generation, there weren't any for at least 3/4's of the second generation and 1/2 of the fourth generation. The Z/28 reigned supreme.
