I don't beleive the GT 500 will run that long, the origional dates were limited production 2007 - 2009 they may extend to 2010 this is pissing off the current owners who were told limited production collectors car....
the Z28 May or maynot be slated for 2011-2012 they can't call it a GT500 killer since it will already be dead !!

I'm actually kind of glad the Z/28 hasn't been announced. I think GM is doing it right by waiting to see how everything pans out, what with the new Ford Mustang engine coming out, and Mopar with new versions of the Chally, etc...

You wouldn't want your King-of-the-hill Z/28 to be outdone by some other brand waiting in the wings would you?? I wouldn't and I don't think the General would either.

We just need to relax and see what happens. I am firmly in the camp that says there is no way GM would NOT do a Z/28, "all your base are belong to us" Camaro.

My $.02

What about car shows and cruise-ins? The wife, kids and I have met a LOT of good people at weekend car shows and Saturday night cruise-ins, MANY of whom have become lifelong friends. We have a "cool car" to bring along, and we all fit quite nicely. The same car goes with me to the dragstrip on test 'n tune nights.

If I buy a 'Vette, I'm either going to tell my kids "no more cruise nights, kids, sorry," or convince my wife that we should take two cars there.

So since the 'Vette option is out, you're saying that if I buy a 500HP Z/28 to replace my Z28 as my "third" car and take to the local road course 2-3 times a year, I'm some kind of bad parent? (News flash: The accelerator pedal is not a binary device.) Or am I supposed to keep one car for car shows, one car for the track, and two daily drivers for the wife & me? Never mind the cost & insurance of maintaining four cars, I don't think there are that many "family guys" that have 4-car garages!
