What mods will you do to your 5th gen based from the concepts. Engine wise exterior or interior and of course the diff. engines that you want to use like the rumored LS3 or LS7.
personally i will probaly get a perfomance programmer and better spark plugs and a cold air induction system.

The FIRST thing I'm going to do is get rid of that AWFUL gold bow-tie.
Besides that, I can't see doing too much at first. Maybe some simple bolt-on's. We'll probably have to wait a little while for the aftermarket to catch up.
Eventually I'd like to do headers, exhaust, computer tune...that sort of stuff...have to see what the aftermarket will bring us.

Having gone down this slippery slope with my '98 SS and experienced many of the positives and negatives associated with adding mods, my sincere hope is that GM will make available a Top Dawg Camaro with 500+ HP that will suit my needs just fine, without having to do anything over and above a couple of basic bolt-ons. (if that)
Obviously, everyone has their own priorities with respect to what they want the car to be capable of. What works for one person won't necessarily work for the next guy. I feel somewhat fortunate in that my priorities are fairly basic. I'm interested in having a versatile, comfortable car that is easy to drive, can give a good account of itself on an autoX layout and stay out on a road course for a 20-30 min. lapping session without any brake fade. I also need it to be a great long distance cruiser that gives reasonable fuel economy on the highway. Drag racing does not come into the picture at all for me.
After a couple of experiences behind the wheel of a C6 Z06, I do not feel that my expectations are unreasonable. In my mind, the Z06 has a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde personality in that by keeping a light foot on the throttle, the car gives very few clues as to what it can do. It's a very easy and civilized car to drive around town. But hammering the loud pedal obviously transforms the car into a sharp-edged, highly capable missile that plays in a league with cars costing tens of thousands more.
Am I expecting comparable performance from the Top Dawg Camaro? Realistically, I'd like to see the performance level of that car fall somewhere between the current C6 Z06 and my (modified for the road course) SS. Somewhat more power, better (and more sure-footed) handling... without as many "rough edges" as my car... would fill the bill very nicely... thank you very much, GM. From what I've seen, I know that it can be done!
But just don't get rid of all the rough edges!
Best regardSS,
Elie

Elie, I have the same feelings you do. I hope I'll have have to do to a fifth gen is a CAI and cat-back and have between 450-500 hp. Lord knows when I want to waste money on mods, they're going on the RS

I'll certainly be doing a catback and cold air induction almost immediately. I'd think a set of longtubes would be next, provided there are some dyno charts around to indicate they're worth it. Then a tune. I'm hoping this will be on a LS3 that is already making 425+ hp, so those mods if they do the usual amount of gain will put it making some quite impressive power IMO.
I'd like to be tooling around w/ a brand new car, w/ minimal bolt ons putting down at/over 400 rwhp, the more the better (I'm crossing my fingers it makes about that stock, but who knows). If they can put this thing out w/ the LS3 and not weight 3800+lbs it's going to haul ***.
