The 3.8 is going away. For 2009, only the LaCrosse will use it.

There were rumors about using the 3500 in the base model. So I think that Chevy was probably considering it. But certifying that engine would have cost extra money, and Chevy likely determined that the additional sales from a lower sticker price would not make up for the cost to certify.

Plus this way, all Camaros will be 14 second or better cars.

Using your logic, maybe you should have bought an Aztek and put yourself in an even more exclusive club........people NOT liking a car is not a good thing for that specific line of car. Lets hope the new camaro doesnt suffer the same fate of the previous ones.

Still...21,000 for what is essentially my car. I feel sick now.
Tell me about it, I just bought a 2006 C6 Vette for the old lady and it had 15,700 miles on it, it was traded in for a, "Get this" Ford Flex !! wow anyway I stole the car at a price 35K it's Monterey Red, Cashmere Interior Convertable. it took a lot of haggling but the car sat for a while with no interest, with people seeing gas prices hitting 5-6 bucks a gal, they were skipping V8's.

BTW the only people you see driving Vettes are Old Men and Hot Chicks......... Thats what the Card said when I suprised my wife with her car.

True Statment...... GM did right my puting the DI 300hp engine in the lower models, these cars will be the bread and butter, those things are going to sell like hotcakes, they will be the majority of the sales, I say 6 to 1. if priced right the Camaro V6 could outsell the Mustang V6 just in options alone.
but it must be priced no more than 2K over the Mustang V6 or it will fail because V6 owners don't look at performance as much as style, options, price and mileage. oh and the cool factor..

Despite the addition of 200-300 pounds of weight (maybe even 400 in the case of your average fox car) the S-197 trounces the earlier cars - IMO the 3-link rear suspension creating the most notable difference on the SRA cars

Heh.. cool vid btw, I really wanted to go to VIR for the holiday laps, but I busted up my knee on the gas/brake leg and had to get surgery.

There is a PDX hopefully still in the works at Summit Point this september --->fingers crossed<--- I'm hoping that nothing comes up till then to prevent me from going.
Bossco, summit point is just a few miles from me. WTF is a PDX?

Performance Driving Experience, really just a track day, but for 200 bucks all day at Summit Point its a pretty good deal and you get an instructor in the car.

I was checking into a regular track day (non-member) at VIR and it was almost 500

Trainwreck anybody? Way too many people in hear either talking with their hearts or talking with their d*cks! NOONE races these cars stock for stock. All of this bickering back and forth between cars about which car is better is sickening. The truth of the matter is that these cars are one and the same. They perform (and will continue to perform) close enough to each other it's not going to make a difference. Once you get into modding there is no clear cut winner. There will always be someone faster in "the enemy's" car . Let's grow up, get back to the original topic (which I'm sure several of you can't even remember what it is,) and start posting useful information.
