What "Special Edition" Camaro would you like GM to build?

With the Mustang having many different special edition models what kind of ideas would you have for a Special Edition Camaro........here's a few of mine

Camaro "Intimidator" SS

The original Intimidator SS Camaro never got as advertized as it should in 01 after the passing of Dale Earnhardt the car's edition line was severely limited to what it was originally supposed to be. I say Chevy should honor Dale with a true Intimidator SS model starting out with the Camaro SS. Special edition wheels, and appearance package give this SS the Intimidation factor it truely deserves. Working with the Earnhardt family, unique touches are added to the car inside and out with a special 2 tone interior with Silver accents with ebony and silver 2 tone bucket seats and Earnhardt signature and number placed tastefully inside the car. On the outside a racing inspired apperance package with a duck bill spoiler that has its roots from the original Camaros and one of a kind hood and front spoiler and side skirts accenuate the package. Intimidator SS badging across the back with Chevy racing bowties replacing the company Gold ones. Along with a striping package and Earnhardt badging leaves the car as a formal tribute to the man in black.

Camaro "RS"

This edition available on the V6 models offers unique specific exterior and interior enhancements to provide the customer with flash and uniqueness without having to get SS. With this packages comes with unique wheels (more than one choice), hood, grill, spoiler and side skirt and nose and rear pieces. Also with the package a tuned 3.6 v6 with 6 speed automatic w/ tap shift or 6 speed manual and tuned suspension and exhaust offers you with a little something extra out of a V6 pony car. Also available with this package is a heritage inspired striping package that is customizable with the car along with customized accented interior pieces also offered in wide selection of exterior colors with a few model specific colors as well. If you or have someone that is choosey about their car or if you are a young buyer that wants to have a unique car while not having to spend a fortune to set yourself apart from the croud the RS camaro is for you.

if anyone can come up with a special edition package as well feel free to post

There are two

ZL1
1LE unless Z28 is all out like the Z06.

Both badged. I strongly feel that if Camaro has a special car it should be badged so everyone knows what they are looking at. Also The B4C Police version should have a "B4C" badge the way the LTD police car has an "Interceptor" badge.

How about a 2007 40th Anniversary Camaro? That would be one I'd like to see.

Yeah, Id have to say COPO ZL1. I dont know if GM will offer the Z06 engine under the hood of any of the given Camaros, but that would be interesting to see with the ZL1 badge on it. That is probably as high as it will go if GM doesnt want the Camaro walking into the Blue Devil territory.

I dont think that this is the right thread to ask this question, if not just ignore me, but does anyone think that its a possibility that the difference in engines between the SS and Z28 will just be different versions of the 6.2 liter? One being the regular version, and the other being slightly modded or bored out a little further to add a little more displacement while still staying below the 7 liter? A supercharger perhaps? This kind of thing would at least leave room for a special edition like the ZL1 with a Z06 engine.

Z/28
It will be comparable to going from a C6 to a C6 Z06.

If they ever did the ZL1 again, they'd need a good reason to make less than 100 cars. Guionm and others have said making such a low production of cars would cost GM alot of money.

Also, the SS will be fast, the Z/28 will be really fast (this car will be taking on cars way out of it price range). If a ZL1 was to be made, it would have to be made with a race engine to stay true to its nameplate and heritage. That would most likely mean a C6-R (or a Supercharged C6-R ). But GM can not afford to entertain us right now.

A ZL1 ..... it's a no brainer .

Although, for everybody else (besides the lucky ~69 people who get their hands on the "real" ZL1's produced ) we'll need the cars like the Berger Camaros, or if things pan out with Saleen, something like that (look what they've done for Mustang).

But like Ford has done with SVT and built the Cobra (for the masses) or working with Shelby to build the GT500 (as slow and heavy as it may be ) we need something like that too .

SS & Z28 aren't enough for the die-hards. "Anybody" can get one. There needs to be one more special "ticky box" that gets you a real ringer ... like a GT500 ... like a Z06 .

I think a mass produced ZL1 would be the answer to that, honestly . Build just a couple thousand units or something like that . But make it something that every Camaro owner dreams about, and every Mustang owner fears, and all the kids in school talk about ... like it's some kind of "superhero" .....

..... yeah, THAT'S what it needs to be!

edit: forgot to mention, a 427 decal on the side .

Why does everybody think the RS has to be on just the V6's?

Intimidator Edition for Dale Earnhardt.....PLEASE. Give me a ****ing break.

He raced, he died, get over it.

Anyway, back to reality,

I hope they build an RS for sure, available with special striping (hockey striped, racing stripes etc.), hideaway headlights, and maybe special underbody lip kits. And MAKE IT AVAILABLE WITH ANY MODEL.

Maybe another special edition like a COPO or YENKO, with an optional 500 hp 427, and lots of suspension upgrades.

A ZL1...no explanation needed.

I wouldn't mind seeing an Intimidator version considering I'm a big #3 fan, but then again, there is not as much hype surrounding Dale Earnhardt now as there was back then so who knows how well it would catch on.

Bring back the Type LT!

I dunno how they'd do it... maybe a grand touring type package, or possibly something similar to the California package on the Mustang GT?

And we could offer it with t-tops and a complimentary rebel flag sticking out of one of the 4 exhaust pipes that exit before the rear tires. And the rear tires will stick out past the wheel wells (sp?) and be 3 inches taller than the front tires.
C'mon now, aren't we trying to get rid of these negative stereotypes? An Intimidator edition isn't going to help any.

until NASCAR starts running full production vehicles, not merely shells with engines and stickers to make them look similar to production vehicles, there shouldn't be any NASCAR-related packages. ESPECIALLY on a Camaro.

YOU are the one perpetuating the stereotype, sir.
