what are your thoughts on Z28 Pricing?

If consumers would not pay "Stealership" markups, then maybe they wouldn't continue this practice. MSRP pricing already includes a hefty profit for dealerships, remember they also get holdback money from the manufacture. Markups are nothing short of gouging consumers, based on model popularity. And this is pure greed on their part.
I am believe Saturn had it right, with their non negotiation pricing policy. What you paid for a vehicle is what your neighbor also paid for the same year/model. The way things are now only the rich get the most popular new vehicles by paying these "stealership" markups.

GM allows a dealer to order only so many camaros so many times... some dealers are only allows 1 Camaro every month. Once that Camaro is gone, they have to wait until the month ends to order another Camaro. I'm not talking 10 people coming in and ordering a new Camaro, I'm say that the dealer will have to wait another month until He/She can even call GM with the specific order. So why would a dealer want to increase the price over MSRP?
a couple of reasons.
1.) If a Camaro is sitting at the dealer, it attracts attention, brings in customers who may end up buying a different car. Having a higher price will help it sit on the lot a little longer, thus attracting potential customers.
2.) Let's be honest, if a dealer sold EVERYTHING at MSRP, it could never grow its business. Saturn dealers were usually owners who wanted only 1 dealership, or had other non-Saturn brand dealerships throughout the city.
3.) There are MANY MANY customers who DEMAND to buy at invoice... which means the dealership gets ZERO profit from that sale. Why would a dealer sell at ZERO profit? To hopefully build customer loyalty and therefore hope to make up that loss on a hot selling car like a Camaro, thus increase the price above MSRP.
Did you know Ferrari dealerships usually mark up their cars by more that $30,000 over MSRP? But then, a Ferrari dealership only needs to sell 2 cars a month to be profitable. A GM/Chevrolet dealership needs to sell 75-100 cars a month to be profitable.
In the end, every dealership is going to screw you, just find the one that will screw you the least!

...but I dont care to hear the complaints either when supply catches up and the price drops. I mean at best they are bidding for a low number VIN... so be it...
