Exactly. Paybacks, atleast the Z06 wheels looked way better than Ford's copy of them, and the vert wheels look way better than the similar Stang wheels IMO!

I actually think the wheels on the 'vert look better - and it's taken me days to figure out why .......the 'vert wheels actually curve inward toward the center of the wheel - while the Rustang wheels seem flat from outer edge to center. I don't want to think that it would make a big difference, but damn, I love the 'vert wheels and hate the rustang's (even before knowing it was a Rustang). Myabe I'm just nuts.......

The Mustangs in that comparison look much more interesting with the sharper edges than the smooth generic looking ones on the Z06.

I don't think that's where they came from. I'd say that they were inspired by the early SS "Mag" wheel covers from the '60s. I don't have a pic handy, but if you do a search you should find them. Same source as the "Redline" detail on the wheels. No Mustang required.

I was thinking the same thing.
And those of course where made to mimick the drag racing mags of the day.
