My fiancee probably thinks I'm a sick, sick person, but just last night I had a dream I sold the 30th and was driving a Medium Grey Metallic (the color of my first car, my '89 RS) '88 IROC 350 I won on eBay (couldn't get MGM on an IROC in '89) I've toyed with the idea of selling the 30th for about 6 months now, because I really, REALLY want another third gen. I've been having a blast bombing around in the RS, and resurrecting it from beater status into a show car. Isn't it sad that even in my dreams, I'm thinking about paint options on third gens?

With that said, I don't think I can ever part with that car. Its such a fun, smooth cruiser. She's not crazy about my RS, and begged me to take the Z to Indy in September...I briefly thought about taking the RS to save miles on the Z. But, how could I not have a 30th at the Brickyard?? The photo ops could be huge!!

I'm assuming you'll be at Indy, Charles? I'm still gonna try to talk you into selling it Its sad that third gens are even part of my dreams now...literally!!

My wife decided she wanted my Grand Prix GXP, and told me to sell her SUV. I also sold my Formula and was then able to afford a second GXP. I will miss the Firebird but it's a worthy tradeoff for what's to come

Note: This doesn't mean I won't always have more than one Camaro. I have a few "projects" in the back of my mind once I finish the blue coupe (are they ever finished) and a few projects around the house (re-landscaping front and back yards, re-finishing the garage, new kitchen floors, etc.). A few ideas I'm playing with are: a turbo Ecotec (in a 3rd gen); a twin-turbo biodiesel Camaro (long ways off); and an electric-powered '68 Camaro (a real long ways off).

I almost bought a MGM '88 IROC a couple of years ago. It was an LB9/A4 though. In the end, I let that one go.

Well, I think i've said this before somewhere on here but here it goes

My 91 Convertible is kinda my dream car, its a black on black top, with grey leather interior. While it is an automatic, its got a 87 GTA rear disk setup on it, and is a project i'm working on now that will be just as expensive as my 92 i fear if not more so when i'm all done with it....

My 92 RS is a hardtop, that ive spent more money sweat, and tears in than i care to state, and well my wife is quite adamant, that if i sell it, she's leaving me. and no, shes NOT kidding.

My 01, well its a 01 Sunset Metallic Orange Z28 TTop car, with A monsoon Tape, Ebony interior, and the v6 ground effects, which makes it pretty rare, considering there were only 1200 SOM's made in 01, and with those options i'm sure its a lot lower...so no, i couldn't bare to sell the LS1 car either..

so in reality, financially i probably cant buy a new one, (especially since I told the wife she gets her TAHOE next) but ill wait and buy a used, or if things get better, Ill buy a new convertible Z/28 Heck, I had a hard time selling my 89 RS convertible just so i could buy the 91 Z28 convertible the next day. And with selling my old 67, well, we wont go there...

I don't have any good ones digitized, but here's one from last year at an Illinois Camaro Club outing. In the next few days I'll be taking the cover off it and firing it up, I'll get some better ones posted.

The black IROC behind the red '68 convertible:

I bought my 97 Z Convertible in 1999. It was my first 'nice' car. I have babied it to the point where my wife thinks I am crazy. When I built my house, I had an extension built on it just so I had a place to put her for the winter. After all this time she only has 38K miles and is still in beautiful shape. I will NOT be selling my baby. I will park my 2010 Camaro right next to my Z.

Back in the days when we were having our kids, my wife was really trying to get me to sell the Camaro. I am very glad I didn't. Now that money is not a problem anymore I plan on having two Zs in my garage!

At age 61 and having a very nicely tricked out "02 vert Z-28.My money is probably better off in my retirement fund than in the General's pocket for a new V-8.That said maybe trading my HHR on a Six cylinder as a daily driver might be an option

Nice. Is it the picture or is that the incorrect "Tuned Port Injection" decal below the IROC-Z emblem?

I like the original tires, I wish they made reproductions from like Coker or something. Some of the very first Third Gens are running around here with Historic plates on them, kinda trips me out a little!

That decal was afixed by the craftsmen (sarcasm bigtime), at Van Nuys.
