Why can't we?...

Re: Why can't we?...
I'm still against the idea of the mid level V8.. because I really doubt it actually costs any less (or any real significan amount) than a performance V8...
IMO, the midlevel V8 would only serve a purpose to fill a potention market price point niche, and give an excuse to push the "performance/Z28" V8 to a higher pricepoint. All while adding more cost overall to certify and build another model varient.
In other words, I believe it would make the Z28 more expensive.

A V6 model, mid-level V8, performance V8, and our SUPER V8? And moreover, why do they have to be SS and Z28? Can't they just be dubbed Camaro or how bout Camaro Z and Camaro S, or something different?Or why not have Z28 and SS both be the performance V8, both of them equal not better than the other, and then designate the Super Camaro as something totally different. Because as Camaro enthusiasts,we should be united. No division even if it's playful. In my mind the Camaro has been off the hill long enough...so to speak. And it's time for the Camaro to regain it's title and throne as the KING OF THE HILL! Do ya feel me? Just some thoughts of mine. And a little shout out to the homies who got love for the RS. And to all the Camaro lovers here.

*Mustang's SVT (cobra or the new GT500) correspond to Camaro's SS (at least that's Chevy's story, and their sticking to it).
*Saleen is an outside independent company, not part of Ford.
*What's the purpose of having the SS and Z28 have the same performance then having some "Super Camaro" that beat's them both.
*Where's the logic in naming the cars "Camaro S" and "Camaro Z" instead of Camaro SS and Z28, which are established names?
*Camaro has been king of the hill in performance since at least '93. It's also been dead for 4 years. King of the hill is about sales. How does your idea help Camaro's sales to ensure it's future?
*Have you given more than a nonosecond's thought to your ideas?
*No I don't "Feel Ya".
*The "Homies" with the RSs appreciate your "shout out", and glad to see you're "In the house".
Kids.

Re: Why can't we?...
Hey now, this isn't an "old guys make fun of young guys way of talking" forum. The original poster had a legitimate question. But anyway, you guys are right about any hawk or phoenix references, pontiac enthusiast would probably be angry, but i imagine there would be a lot of firebird/ Trans-am fans that would buy the new Camaro as an attitude like "well this is as close as i'm gonna get to a new bird" and maybe a subtle bird reference in one of the mid or upper models' name would snag a few extra sales. Perhaps a bird level of trim.
Don't get me wrong, the Camaro name is awesome, but i just wish the highest top model would be named something with a little more bite in it that people and the media would remember ala Cobra, Viper, Firehawk, Charger, etc. Who knows, maybe just supercharge the top motor option and call it a "Super Camaro"

P L E A S E !!! No 'Firebird' inspired bits in the new Camaro!!! - These cars are already twins, and conjoined twins won't be sexy...
A catchy name/ad compaign would be great (Hell, ANY ad compaign at this point would be 10 years overdue - lol), but if GM gets the job done with the production model, it shouldn't matter what subset is the most powerful. There should be excitement in just the return of a champion - having models to counter Mustang in power AND each of it's pricepoints would be nice too...
