Why the groans?

Why the groans?
Ok, what a huge day! Great to see all the speculating and rumblings are coming to something amazing! I am a bit confused. I know this has been under development and GM has had a long time to get us this car, but why some of you are upset you will need to wait 3-actually more like 2.5-years (probably less than 2 to order) to get the car in the driveway is beyond me. Let's consider:
1. Shortcomings of the prior generations are talked about all the time-don't you want to have them invest the extra months in getting it right?
2. Still debated even after the announcement-it has no "official" production plant, so that needs to be sorted out
3. Testing-speculated about, but no confirmed Camaro mules-so they haven't even test run one over the short drives in the concept
4. Addressing changes-some things need to be changed for production and that takes time-crush zones for crash testing, ergonomics of driving position, etc.
5. This is a brand new car-let's not forget the hiatus this car has been on. While Mustang ran the old Fox body they were developing the current platform-this is one of, if not the, first North American Zetas. It needs ful development-Lutz even stated there will be "no compromises" on the chasis. Great!
6. Think of the fun we are going to have arguing and debating option codes and talking about test mules as they run around.
All in all, this is an exciting time to be a Camaro-and GTO/Firebird-fan. I can just about guarantee lines are lit up at Chevy dealers all across the country asking to put deposits down and for info. Remember, it's not the kill that is the most exciting, it's the thrill of the chase! Now, let the threads take off on all the details and sightings!
