Didn't I see in one of those documentaries about it that GM spent $15M building the concept? If so, would you go around burning the tires off a car that expensive?

I'm sure Fbodfather can correct me, but while on the Hot Rod Power Tour, they displayed the new Camaro every day. On and off the car carrier at each stop. I heard someone joking with the head guy representing GM Performance Division and asked him how much to buy it and he responded $4 million. He said the project to build the two concept cars ran in the $8 million dollar range, which is pretty realistic and beleivable. So I can totally understand why they don't want to drive it or let anyone sit inside it.

(Actually it is a prototype mule to test an engine but close enough)
