Re: Will the Camaro be E85 compatible?

I believe GM needs to make all their cars and trucks E85 compatable beginning with the 08 Model year. It would be stupid not too. This would certainly provide a catalyst for companies to invest in E85 processing plants.

It needs to happen, and I believe it will.

Do you believe the fact that Brazil will be completely free of imported oil by next year is a bad thing? Research and development of E85 fuels, along with other alternatives to fossil based fuels needs to be treated like a national security issue, which it is in fact.

We've had since 1973 to get our **** together, it seems just now we've waken up a little from our stupor.

Yep. The last few administrations have done next to NOTHING to reduce ever-increasing overconsumption.

As far as CandD's credibility, for the most part I agree it's ****e.
But there's no altering that ethanol and methanol have only 2/3 the energy per volume as gasoline. Which means you'll be fuelling 50% more often, and paying WAY more for fuel. Hopefully you guys are serious about wanting to reduce dependency on foriegn (and domestic!) oil. But by and large, E85 isn't going to make a difference with the mass populace unless the gummint decides to REALLY subsidize the farm lobby to make ethanol super-cheap. But guess what? We'll still be paying full price (via taxes to support the subsidies) anyway, only instead of it being based on your CONSUMPTION, it'll be based on your income (how much you are taxed), pretty stupid.

Instead of making us PAY, via subsidies and fuel taxes, I honestly think they should just raise the CAFE a huge amount, and apply it to non-work use trucks and SUVs.

Ulterior motive: And that would lead to LIGHTER-WEIGHT, more fun vehicles! Theoretically....
