It might become more common if a lot of examples are produced, but not stale. I say make it, DON"T CHANGE A THING FROM THE CONCEPT, and it has staying power like salt- cured ham!

I think people were worried this might be an issue for the Solstice, but it really hasn't been a problem for it IMO. Only the people who really want the car might get tired of the design because they are waiting around for it, most people will forget about it until it's on TV and can be bought.

I sure hope we get "fast track" and they do better than that. It'll lose some "freshness" over time but I don't think that will hurt demand all that much ... at least initially.

I think most of the car has the potential to still look fresh in a few years, especially the rear, but that front just makes the whole car look dated and stuck in time. When all three retro muscle cars are on the market, it will not look special at all and a freshening will be called for. I would say that GM has the chance to modify some of the styling but they seem pretty intent on leaving things the way they are.

I must not get the whole dated styling thing. I've never looked at a new car and thought it looked like it was stale or dated. I've looked at older cars and thought about how they looked durring the time they were out. Like a fox mustang looks like it was from the 80's... But thats it. If a car is boring, then its boring. But I think a great design like the Camaro (concept) will be just as awesome everytime I see one.

Will the concept camaro become stale? No. Think about it, look back to the time when the mustang came out with a retro... rememeber when the mustang had the rear tail light that came fully across the rear and they ended up cutting it shorter to make it look better and when the front fog light was placed by the ground and they changed it to a different location on the grill. So a few miner changes were made but the overall design persisted. Now Keep in mind the Concept car usually comes out as just a trial version to see if the desire for it lasts. Don't be dicouragedif it's going to change and don't be afraid of what's going to happen to change the style. GM will make minor alterations in the design to find out which details the public responds to best, but the overall style should remain intact. Good style beomes classic as evidenced by the first generation camaro, still in demand today. The brain will make the adjustment to accept small changes. It may come out a little bit better. I hope it won't look worse. Like I said during the Photo shop " Camaro Concept Gallery", we all can create and persist to make it look good. You never know what GM would do that would count on us. I am sure they pay attention to us because they really want the successful marketing and making sure that the market won't go bad and beg for a very reasonable price. They had their lesson to turn it around. I've been a camaro owner enthusiast since I was a kid. My taste hasn't changed one bit. Honestly, to me, the new Concept Camaro just looks fantastic. I do see a lot of mixing it up combining styles from the past with a futuristic twist. So the answer is No, it's not going to go stale. The designs are for real !!

I have heard numerous times at the show , how futuristic the new Camaro looked . If Chevy doesnt water down the production version , I think in 2008 it will remain very fresh . I also think Chevy just nailed the design in a way that will always be looked upon as one of the greats like the 1st gen .

I dont' think it will have lost any of its thunder by the time it makes it to market. However, I do think it will only have a good shelf life of 5 or so years before that front end will need to get the axe in favor of a new styling.

That's the danger of not designing a truely original design, elements are dated before you even release it.
I can't say it'll look dated when it comes out, that's a personal judgement. IMO the concept doesn't look all that new already because of all it's heritage 'cues' (and yes, I have seen it in person twice already).
I think it leaves a fair anount of room for someone to come up some new styling/design theme to steal the show.

The correct answer to the poll is "Not if GM gets the car to market quickly"
If we have another SSR-product cycle repeat then the car is doomed.

Stale?!
My head snaps around every time I see a Solstice drive by, and we 1st say it in what? 2001? heck, I still think the C5 looks good, and it's been around since '97.
Doubt the Camaro will be anywhere near stale till we start seeing them on every corner. IMO PacerX was right on the money. 5 years tops in production before we get a little tired of them.
