Will the new Camaro be able to have a t-top option?

I have seen this talked about since the debut of the concept and the majority of people seem to think it will not be able to have one because of the double windows. Does anyone know for certain if it is going to be possible? Why or why not? Since the majority of Camaros built since the early eighties have had this option, I can't believe Chevy would ignore this fact in the rebirth of the Camaro.

Doubtful. Crash standards and engineering limitations may not allow it to happen.

Re: Will the new Camaro be able to have a t-top option?

I would MUCH prefer TTops over a sunroof. And I do hope they make it an option.

But IF they don't, then the sunroof had better be HUGE to make up for it.

I haven't seen the sunroof on the G6 personally, but in images it looks to be rather large. Or at least it's design has the potential to be pretty large due to it not sliding into the roof of the car, thus not needing to be smaller to fit inside the roof.

I've had TTops and Sunroofs. TTops are much better at giving an open air feeling imo.

I hope the new Camaro comes as either a coupe or a convertible. No t-tops, no sunroofs etc. They just add weight, cost, leak potential, and they would look awful on this bodystyle.

I am REALLY big on T Tops, but I just don't think they would look good on this new body. They are bad *** on any 4th. gen, but my vote is no. Just a coupe or convertible please. No sun roof either........They just don't "fit" to me in an F-body.

Re: Will the new Camaro be able to have a t-top option?

Ive tried for over 5 years to get a ttop fbody, and its one stupid hardtop after another. I already have 2 maros that move pretty good, so Id like to make the 5th gen the cruiser. But without ttops, it means Ill have to add another fbod to the stable so I can finally get them. I just cant cut them into my 1LE, ahh if only that was the 1 option they had come with I cant stand the sunroof look so ttops/targa is the only way.

I'm often too tall for cars with a sunroof... so they don't usually "fit" me either, literally. That said, I hope the 5th gen will have T-tops. They were a very popular option (are you listening GM?), and they're one my favorite things about my 4th gen.

Give me a metallic blue 5th gen Z28 with a 6-speed, the biggest V8, and T-tops.

I wouldnt think the possible new Camaro would have a sunroof with those roof lines.

I never really cared about the t-tops but after 4 months of owning one I guess they are neat.

I had t-tops on all my previous f-bodies. But I dont think they would look right on this body style.

Re: Will the new Camaro be able to have a t-top option?

I'd be happy woth a hardtop-only if it guaranteed no uuuugly b-pillar-- that said, I loved the targa on my vette, and think T-tops are an inferior alternative... why take only half of your roof off?

Go targa, no b-pillar needed-- best of both worlds!

Ttops = Yes. If a Convertable can pass crash test, how could a ttop car not pass?

Re: Will the new Camaro be able to have a t-top option?

I doubt there would be enough support for t-tops with no B pillar. And to strengthen it enough youde probably have to add 100 pounds to the car, no thanks.
