Will the rear be up to par?

I saw that it was mentioned in another thread that Caddy was having problems with their rears. Some, more than a few Caddy owners were mentioning that after 20k miles they were having serious problems with their rear gear boxes. Most had to be replaced.

Does GTO have this problem with the IRS? What about Vette? Please tell me that this have been fixed or a better rear has been selected for Camaro. Would the fix be to just go with the Vette rear?

Apparently the Getrag rear for the Sigma cars bust, but have only heard of a few of the C6 rears breaking, but only under heavy load. Corvette's a hybrid of the Dana 60 isnt it?
I have heard no GTO problems.

Re: Will the rear be up to par?

the gto's do have some issues with gear whine and such the rears (when set up properly) are quite strong
but i managed to break mine on my 06 GTO at th 478 mile mark so yeah there are a few probs but when broken in and installed properly they have done fairly well
on a side note they now have a 9" irs conversion for the GTO's at diff technics i think is the place

I dont know... I thought if it works for the Vette then it could be used with Camaro... I didnt consider that Camaro is heavier putting more stress on the rear or that the Vette rear might have the same issue.

This is my biggest worry with this car
