ill be waiting a year or so after its out.
And the rear gear ratio, tranny gears, brake pad thickness possibly, rear spring rates and rear sway bar on the 1LE. I think that's it. Not that any of those things were that big a deal. Speed Density being the biggest thing I suppose.

I'll probably get a low milage 2002 first and then pick up a 5th gen slightly used. I'm a cheap bastard.

and the fuel rails, TRANS (not just the gears, 93s had 700R4s), guages, taillights on the 97, cats on the 96-97s.

I'll be handing over my left kidney whenever the Z/28 becomes available. We all know it's the best.

Re: Will you buy the first year or wait?

Im going to do everything I can to be able to get one the first year. Its going to take a lot of saving, but I think I can do it. Huge down payment! For whatever reasons, I just want to have the first model it returned as - and be the only owner. ever. It will be my first new car purchase and I plan to keep it forever. And I dont even care what it ends up looking like or what V8 engine is in it or what the interior looks like. Im buying whatever they make and put a Camaro badge on.

Ah...I was just thinking about the '93. I forgot about the 4L60E vs. 4L60. Fuel injectors were changed a couple times too if I'm not mistaken.

If I like what I see in January and they announce production dates I might just have to run over to Berger and put a deposit down to get on their list! My SS will be paid for in July of 07 so that will give me time to buy/pay for my dad's 85 IROC before getting a 5th gen!

You may be cheap, and I have no comments about your parentage, but you also be SMART!

Re: Will you buy the first year or wait?

I'll never buy the first year, I want to wait until the accessories/options come out of the wood-work, so I don't have to void the warranty. Plus, all car manufacturers have a history of not being able to see years into the future (obviously impossible) so I want all the recalls fixed before I get one.

I want paddle-shifters on the steering column more than anything else though. I'm not very well coordinated with my left foot, and don't like taking my hand off the wheel to shift, so I won't get a manual.

Other than that, I want it in bright blue, so I won't buy one until I see one come out in Bright Blue/Nassau Blue Metallic. And if one doesn't come out with paddle shifters and GPS in the very least... I'll just save my money and skip over getting one at all. By 2011 (the time I will be searching for a new car), there might be more attractive models out, and I still have my dream of a Callaway C8 to deal with...

Re: Will you buy the first year or wait?

i am going to wait for 2 reasons...

A)mustang or some other car will coem out wit more power so the camaro might bump it's power up to stay ahead

B)i wont have that kinda money to get one anytime before the 2nd year or
3rd year of production lol

I'm with you. If no Z is available at 1st. I'll lease an SS until the Z arrives. I won't be able to stand not having one.

Re: Will you buy the first year or wait?

It sounds to me like very few people want to buy the first year on this board. Some people won't even buy a new one at all but will wait for a used one. We are supposed to be the enthusiasts! It sounds to me like they shouldn't be listening too much to what we say if we aren't even going to be contributing to the sales of the car.

Oh well. Like I said, '09 whether its the first year or not and it will be new.
And if the plant is in the US I will be arranging a plant tour so Scott can put a signed copy of the book in the glove box

Re: Will you buy the first year or wait?

Well, don't get me wrong; I'm not just going to wait for a used one like some of the people here. I am going to special order my own from my favorite chevy dealership with every option/package I want. However, I doubt my paddle shifters are going to be a first year option... so I don't think I'll be getting one for the first year.
