Will you buy the first year or wait?

to borrow from the lamne rags, depends on how gotta have it is. I'll probably have a few bucks in the GTO and will be paid off by then, so the whole package would have to blow me away, not just the look.

Oh well. Like I said, '09 whether its the first year or not and it will be new.
And if the plant is in the US I will be arranging a plant tour so Scott can put a signed copy of the book in the glove box

its quite possibly the best value ever avalible... to pick up a v8 in a box for really cheap... we are enthusiasts... we arent wealthy because we spend all our money fixing up our cars the way we want them... we save the money we would have spent on a new car, and spend it to make ours faster...
(to prove this... i picked up my lt1, for $6000... and with another 10k that it might have cost me to get a new car... mine would be one of the fastest cars on the road...)
I will buy a new one so i can break it in, and be an original owner... if i had the money i'd buy two... cause these are gonna be worth a lot of money with really low miles in 30-40 years... what would you pay for a 69 camaro with 100 miles on it?

By the time it comes out I may be in the market for one. But I don't know, I love my car & happy that it's paid for & for the few little mods I have, it makes great HP ( for a daily driver ) plus gets good gas mileage.

i hate to tell you, but we are entusiast of a bang for the buck... which a used camaro offers us...

I'd rather order mine how I want it, rather than buy one that I sort of like (new or used, it doesn't matter, it's the same problem), and spend money and time messing with it. Both of our Camaros were found on the dealership lots (we didn't pick the options, the dealers did), but it would be nice to have one that has all the goodies we want the first time around.
I've spent about 5 years looking for a used '96 medium quasar blue metallic Z28 with all the options I wante on it, and have never found one, which really sucks. I wanted the chrome salad shooters, no t-tops, ebony leather interior, A/C, black roof, mirrors, and door handles, and a lot of other options, but never found one after years of looking for one on ebay... Therefore, I want to order this next 'Maro with everything I want, so I don't have to hunt, and don't have to do any (or have any) work done to it.

Re: Will you buy the first year or wait?
I was hoping to get one late 2007...I hope I still want one this bad in 2009?
I'll be buying the first one, so there'll be a second one, and being a pretty good shade-tree mechanic. I'll work out any bugs as a cheap price to own a piece of History.
I just hope the warranty police don't make them hard to mod...

I bought first year on my Canyon....and had no problems, but I heard the really EARLY ones had some problems.....
I would probably wait until the convertible came out, most likely the second year...I think

Re: Will you buy the first year or wait?
I wouldn't worry about buying the 1st year - it's not like it's a bug ridden needlessly complex Mercedes S-Class, it's a Camaro with (probably) a lot of proven parts that have been well tested in other vehicles. i.e. the LS2 seems like the obvious choice for the engine, the t56 and that 5 speed automatic from the STSV are the only trannys I can think of that would back it up, etc.....

Re: Will you buy the first year or wait?
Depends.
(a) Whether or not a "Z06-like" Camaro Z/28 happens 12-18 months later.
(b) When a convertible version is available.
(c) Whether or not my wife likes it.
In a perfect world, I buy two... a red convertible SS with A6 for the Mrs, and a rip-snorting corner-carving GT500-slaying Z/28 M6 for myself as soon as they are available.
