will you give up your 4th gen for the concept?

Re: will you give up your 4th gen for the concept?
I think I'll always keep my 4th gen. Too much blood, sweat and heart went into all the mods, and taking such good care of it since I bought it new in '97.
If I did get the new Camaro, I'll have to find more space in the garage.

I'd LIKE to have both (that's what I voted ). Just on principle, I'd like to keep my '02 forever (since it's the last of a breed, and I've had it since new).
When the new Camaro comes out and I see it / drive it, then I'll decide what's REALLY going to happen . The problem I foresee is that the '02 won't be worth much by then anyways (trade-in or private sale).

I would love to have both, but it looks like I wont be able to afford both of them at the same time. If by some miracle I can pay off the 02 by then I will definatly keep it, but as it stands I wont be out from under it until Oct 2008...which puts it into reach depending on price. Hmmm, we will just have to wait and see.

Re: will you give up your 4th gen for the concept?
I plan to keep my Z28 and buy a new one. If it came down to keeping mine and not getting a new one, though, I'd have to keep mine and forsake the new one. T-tops are a big deal to me, and the car has a lot of sentimental value to me. I'll have had it 5 years next month, and plan to keep it indefinitely. That car and I have been through a lot, and its almost like family.
However, in 2 more years I hope to have the means to buy a new one...I'd love to, and I think I'll be able to.

I have a Firebird.
The Camaro would have to be the greatest thing since sliced bread for me to jump ship. If I went Chevy it would probably be for the Corvette

My 99 V6 should easily last another 8 years or so. I had an 84 V6 Firebird for 15 years, so my present car should also last that long. It's been trouble-free since new, except for the popup headlight motors.
By the time I am ready for a new car, this new concept Camaro will most likely be out of production.
I don't like the retro concept, the front end looks too much like a brick.

Re: will you give up your 4th gen for the concept?
Well, I havent had much luck with my 4th Gen. I really havent gotten that attached to it b/c of the luck I have had. That 5th Gen looks sweet. I would probably wait until the 2nd year of production, maybe the 3rd, but by then, I really would have to see if I could afford a Vette. If not, the camaro would be 2nd on the list.

FWIW, a "real" Z/28 will set you back 2-3 times that theoretical price of $27K for the 5th gen.
