I'll buy a Bumblebee Edition Camaro if it can transform. Or at least communicate with me through the radio.

But there were no Autobot insignia's on 5th Gen Bumblebee anyway.

So my suggestion is to just name the color yellow 'Bumblebee Yellow' and have the stripes as an option.

Buyers can add their own custom Autobot insignia's if they really want them (I doubt that many REALLY do).

Good point. This way the package doesn't cost any extra. The problem with that is that Hasbro doesn't make any money this way.

There are better things to "Special Edition" than a car from a kids movie. Having said that, my kids would love it!

A kids movie? Have you seen it or are you just generalizing like most people seem to do?

I have to agree with jg95 on this one. It is a pretty stupid idea. Especially the Autobot logos part. Just make the paint color an option, and call it Bumblebee Yellow.

I consider anyone under 30 a kid.

Need to be careful in making generalizations. All that accomplishes is starting a flame war.

...............I consider anyone under 25 a kid!

Seriously though, I really have to wonder about how many of these people that want a "Bumblebee" would actually have the means to buy one. I DON"T want to start a war between younger and older guys, as I'm sure there's some 19 year olds that could afford a new Camaro (whether they actually earned it or had "Mommy & Daddy" pay for it) and I'm sure there's some 40 year olds who can't. But at the risk of "making generalizations", the younger someone is the less likely they'll be able to afford a $30,000+ new car (not to mention the insurance).

When I was 18, 19, 20....would I want a Bumblebee Camaro? Maybe
Would I be able to afford it? No way in hell.

I really have to wonder how many of those that "want" a Bumblebee "clowned up" would actually be in a position to buy one new when it comes out. If Scott (or anyone else at GM) is paying attention to this thread, I hope they take take that into consideration.

Honestly, believe it or not, this isn't to bash young Camaro guys. Hell, I used to be a "young Camaro guy" myself. I got a 7 year old Z28 when I was 18.

Can't believe I haven't responded to this one yet. I wouldn't want the logos on it, but the same color scheme and being called bumblebee yellow, like others have said, seems to be the best idea. It's a reallly awesome color combo and I might be inclined to go with that over any other color combo.

You need to realize that the average old school Transformers fan is 25-35. I think most people here would be surprised by the disposable income of the transformers fan base.

I am 32 myself. I can and will be spending a lot of money on a Camaro when they come out.

It's funny though because I think one of the main reasons people want a "Bumblebee" edition is because we haven't seen all that many different *official* colors of the new Camaro. While I say that I would want a Bumblebee edition now, when all the different color options are on the table I have a feeling my choice will change.

No disagreement there on disposable income. Considering that a 25 year old has probably been out of college and has established himself in the workplace for 2-3 years, that age range on up will be a substantial market for the 5th Gen.

I may be wrong, but you may be one of the exceptions at 32. I really suspect that the older people get, the less likely they'll be to want a car "decorated" with anything inspired by, and I've used this term before , a "cheesy 80's cartoon".

I've said before also that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the yellow & black color scheme, but the prospect of having "Transformer" or "Bumblebee" emblems, decals, or embroidery of any kind on the car absolutely makes me cringe.

Well, I'm probably the biggest Transformers fan on these boards (and a massive lurker, I'm here almost daily). I've been following the production of the movie since it was announced to be "in the works" over 3 years ago...had a huge number of the toys when I was younger, still purchase a couple now and then to randomly set on things around the apartment....nothing garish...just a couple of them in random places. Bunch of TF shirts from hot topic

Loved the movie, LOVED bumblebee....love camaros. My first performance car was a 1989 IROC-Z that I blew the engine in...and got it replaced with a 1986 vette engine from a junkyard...which proceeded to destroy the transmission and rear end, which I also replaced. Sucked up ALL my summer money, and was totally worth it. That car was a blast. Can you imagine a 16 year old driving around in something like that? (or for that matter a 17 year old in a '95 cobra....hehe, gotta love construction)

I'm 23....dropped out of highschool (which explains where I had the money for those cars lol) and got a late start on college (I've got a year and a half left), but I fully plan on getting a 5th gen, V-8 manual, when I'm graduated and working.

I probably wouldn't even consider getting one without that awesome yellow/black combo. It looks great. But I say NO to any kind of external autobot badging. It'd be tacky. I'll put my OWN autobot sticker in the rear window, thank you.

For the inside, if they actaully made a package like this (which they might cuz the next film will be coming out either when the car is released or a couple months after).....I'd want blue interior lighting (autobot eyes are all blue), a little autobot symbol on the steering wheel like the '74 camaro had in the movie, MAYBE special bumblebee seats with a yellow/black leather combination...and that's it. I'd prolly be willing to pay 1500 to 2000 extra for the package. Then I'll get the "Bee-otch" air freshener lol (did you guys catch that in the movie?)

I would not want anything on the exterior of the car to indicate what it was other than the special yellow/black combination.

Also, it's not a pure yellow. It's got some orange in it. It's certainly nothing like the screaming yellow that Vette's get. Perhaps this special version of yellow would only be available on the package?

Earlier in the thread I suggested the idea of tiny insignia's along with the 'CAMARO' on the front fenders, but didn't offer an image to go with the idea.

I'd be very happy to have something like this on my '09 Camaro -

Sorry, like I said, I'd have the 'Dark Bumblebee' since I like Decepticons...

Oh, and chances are I may do something like this anyway. LOL
