The WoW Factor

No matter if you are getting a V6 or V8. The V6 seems to have that Wow factor from responses of people driving it. Everyone gave great praise of the V6. You hear things such as “Man is this really a V6 ?" , " I feel no body roll !". Now my question is will the V8 give you that same Wow factor? Will you hear people say "Man is this V10 or a V8" ok.. ok.. You probably won't hear that, but hopefully you get the point I’m trying to make. LS3/L99 looks great on paper but will that equally translate behind the steering wheel? I am interested of hearing you all input on this.

I don't think the SS will produce anywhere near as big a "wow" factor as the v6 due it having higher-expectations. The expectation-bar is set much higher for the SS and for that reason the "wow" factor won't be as great. The v6 has gone from being an undesirable lifeless appliance (no offense to previous gen v6 owners) to being a very appealing and desirable entry level performance coupe. I'm a traditional v8-only guy when it comes to mustang/camaro, but the v6 camaro appears to have won me over to the point where i'll be test driving and perhaps buying one come next year. That huge leap is what most people find impressive. The SS's on the other hand have always been impressive performance machines and people have come to expect that over the years.

I'm definitely looking very strongly at the V6. If the diff between v6/v8 were only 3k, i'd be all over the v8. However, the v6 is really too much of a bargain to look over w/ like an 8k difference between the two. I want the vert, so i'm already going to have to tack on a bit extra. I'm almost to the point that i've made up my mind on it. Could someone actually break down the difference between the base v6 and base v8? I'd like to know all the 8k gets you besides a bigger engine.

Somebody once remarked to me that the V6 car will make your jaw drop and eyes water.
He proceeded to say that the V8 will tear your jaw off, and melt your eyeballs....

I agree on all the points made in here, the V6 car may not have such a wow factor because of it's raw power and speed (still impressive), but because it's made (like it was said) a SIGNIFICANT leap forward - away from your everyday "I wish I was a V8" Camaros and Mustangs, etc.

I'm seriously considering it. Something I didn't think I'd ever say regarding a Camaro. And I know I'm not alone among enthusiasts, that's impressive in and of itself.
