3750 is fat for a v8 let alone a v6/ If that is the case the v8 will be a pig. Shame on you Scott. Keep the faith my ***. What an overgrown pig. Pony boy my *** when the the 5.0 hits the streets. You will eat your words. What a letdown. The camaro has been out for three friggen years because of the fear of rejection. Im not impressed.

I will wait till Monday but im not impressed. You may eat your wrods this time with the Mustang and I love the small block chevy. Im sick about the weight. You guys screwed up. Im holding out until its all official of course but its kinda obvious.

Crap.

I've skimmed through a lot of this thread, and more people are talking about the v6 and it's power output than the V8, which has barely been mentioned by you guys.

Is anyone disappointed with the power output of the V8, at least at this first year starting level? I'm not, just getting some feedback.

edit:
lol @ the post above me.

So whats the area to the immediate left of the 12V recepticle? Please tell me it is for an mp3 player. I swear its my #1 wish for the Camaro. Hopefully GM didn't cave to XM and only put Sat in the car.

Well I'm sure they're sorry that they need to cater to more than a select few automotive enthusiasts. I'm sure they're sorry they couldn't make the car made out of carbon fibre. I'm sure they're sorry they couldn't make the car a deathtrap in any collision situation. I'm sure they're sorry they had to add some creature comforts like seats, seatbelts, airbags, interior panels, stereo system and all the computer technology required in modern cars. And I'm sure they're sorry they're going to lose your sale since you obviously were banking on a vehicle being lighter than a lotus and priced so that any teenager working at McDonalds over the summer could afford one...

For the record... According to the door sticker, my 1997 V6 coupe with T-tops, fully optioned, weighs 3500...

Dude what? Im only realistic. Scott is not God. The fat *** camaro is perfect as to why he is not.

I like the car. Im a chevy fan and love the small block chevy but damit it so heavy. Why??? Im just sick about the weight. Scott can blow it off all he wants but its a screw up and he know it.

Im driving a Ford now and will look hard at them come next purchase along with the Gm offering but weight does matter. Im not putting up with a company that cant do any better than this. I like the car but what a pig.

Edmunds has more details and a video of the red car driving around at this link (didn't see this link earlier, different from the previous Edmunds link I believe):

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...hotopanel..1.*

3900lb SS, apparently the 3747lb weight was the V6... 420 hp is great, but that is heavier than I was hoping for, but certainly not shocking...

And apparently the V6 gets a Aisin 6spd tranny, so that explains the shift pattern w/ reverse over next to first. The TR6060 in the SS should have our familiar pattern.

Maybe I'm behind, but are there official 'Ring times in yet on a fully set up production car? I remember hearing about some unofficial times on some test vehicles that were o.k.

Not too much here to make me necessarily change my 2-year long stance -- love the exterior, hate the interior (power lock button under the radio? huh?) And it's on the porky side.

Glad to see it coming back though!

no. of all things, they hit SNOW SQUALLS the day it was on the track. it was a funny story from the engineer who got to ride shotgun for the 'ring laps that day... an Aussie, so he's not one who deals with snow regularly.... and they were still dialing things in suspension wise at that point.

Forgot to mention how much I love the SS and RS emblems on the driver's side of the grille, reminds me of a second gen, and my 94 too:

Looks like an iPod dock in the center console to go with the 5.1 surround.

I still hate the speedo font and center stack design. I look at it in person before passing final judgment...but damn do I hate that font.

I'd be happy as s### with 3900 lbs. The G8 weighs that and people have gone 13.4-13.5 stock with just 367hp, an auto and 2.92 gears. 13.1 with just a tune. A 3900 lb Camaro with 49 more hp, a manual trans and 3.27+ gears should destroy my LS1 4th gen.
