It's understandable...but yes, wait until you drive it before you get so bent outta shape. Hopefully we'll be able to order them without so many bells and whistles...thus chopping off some un-needed weight (that published # is probably fully loaded)...and IMO, it's just a number...this car will still perform. All the feedback from the focus group was +++++, so I'm not worried.

Everyone still complains about weight?!? But could Chevy had made it lighter for cheap? I doubt it. Exotic materials and manufacturing processes would have raised the price considerably. The real blame for the weight increase are safety standards which keep raising the bar and are definitely not helping the fuel economy of cars either. Don't get me wrong here, I would love a feather weight, but as we're seeing lately, it just doesn't seem possible. I think we should just enjoy the car people! The camaro is back baby! Everyone knows the LS3 will make up for any extra pork the car comes with stock, and even more so modified. Let the battle begin.

I just hope the fuel economy is higher than 20mpg on the highway with the V8s... My 05 Silverado is able to get over 20mpg despite being an aerodynamic brick, without AFM, and with the old 4L60E.

I've seen 3.27 gears mentioned for the T6060 SS, but what gearing will the 6L80E version get? That transmission has a STEEP 4.02:1 first gear.

Two things:

1) If you want a light car, check out the Solstice GXP and Sky RedLine. Very light.

2) I wonder if the Solstice,Sky,Colorado, and Canyon will get that new Aisin AY6 6-speed manual tranny. It would be a welcome addition in all those models.

So it seems all these leaked pix are of an RS. It looks great no doubt-I love it! And to top it off so does the wife. But does anyone know if any of these pix show the SS? Will we see an actual SS on Monday?

For the record... According to the door sticker, my 1997 V6 coupe with T-tops, fully optioned, weighs 3500...
100% Agreed. Well Said.

With all these leaked early photos, every single one of them (save for one artist's rendering of an interior) is of the V6/RS model. Makes me wonder if we'll see anything on any V8s on Monday.

You will eat your words. What a letdown. The camaro has been out for three friggen years because of the fear of rejection. Im not impressed.

I will wait till Monday but im not impressed. You may eat your wrods this time with the Mustang and I love the small block chevy. Im sick about the weight. You guys screwed up. Im holding out until its all official of course but its kinda obvious.

Crap.

i think you may have set your expectations too high.. we knew that this car was based on the Zeta platform, same as the G8.. we knew how much the G8 weighed... and we knew this would be a smaller car than the G8... the 3750 is pretty much exactly where i expected the base model to start.. sure the fully loaded models will probably push the scale over 4000lbs.. but such are the times.. unless you want a car that nobody over 5'8" 150lbs will fit in, then it will weigh more than cars of the past

I'd bet they are saving them so they still have some surprises on Monday.

You may be correct. I will be pleasantly surprised if the v8 weighs in at 3750.
Thats still about 200-250 more than it should be but given todays standards it would be decent I guess. I was venting because of rumors floating about the 2011 Mustang. 400 hp and 3550? Who knows and things change.

Gm is notorious for having great drive trains with crappy cars wrapped around them. I can say this from experience. Lets hope this time its different.
