I've just been assuming all along that this thing would have a AUX mp3 player/ipod jack (3.5mm headphone jack or whatever input). I'm going to be more than a little miffed if it doesn't have one in some attempt to force me to use XM (not happening, I do not want to listen to radio, and I sure as hell will not pay monthly to do so).
edit: I guess the new chevy '08 line up have mp3 inputs. I think. So Im hoping we'll get lucky.
edit2: All of the pictures on the chevy sight show the mp3 jack right on the front of the stereo. It seems to be absent from the picture of the camaro, unless it is perfectly hidden behind something.

Exterior looks great. I like the RS idea and that it can be added to V6 and V8 Camaro. I think they did well with the halo lights, 20" wheels and tinted taillights. That will be a popular option. Stance and look are spot on. This car carries over a lot from the concept. Reverse lights??? Why not put them down in the black diffuser area like the C6.
-Love that Chevy kept the concept nose but this scares me as since we have not seen the SS yet it may have the other nose with the more pronounced lower lip and air dam. I'm not a fan of what was seen on the silver SS from Christian Slater’s TV show.
Weight, it is what it is. We had been warned and while I don't want to be warned of any negatives for a new Camaro I don't know what else could have been done. I think had the car come in at 3600 v6 base and 3700 for SS and 3800 for the Z/28 quite a few people here would have accepted it. As it is the weight will sit in the "con" column for those of us comparing this car for purchase.
Interior, at first look seems very busy and has buttons in too many places. I would have liked it if they took all the buttons and lined them up next to each other either on the console or dash but not having traction control in one spot, stability control in another and then door locks under the radio. Chevy didn't need to confuse people like BMW likes to do from the driver’s seat.
I do like what looks like great materials and I think they probably did well for seat feel and support. Love the stitching on the seats and shifter boot. Materials are certainly up to par with the latest GM offerings and that's good. I like the overall look and the body color (I hope) accent on the door panels and dash is very nice. This interior needs some contrasting color to break up all the different shapes and angles.
Unlike the 4th Gen this car looks to have lots of options and lots of ways to customize it from the factory. This car will have a different look and feel from the base v6 to the SS and I think that is a very good idea.

I still find it hard to accept the 3900lbs...
Although the 2002 z06 that weighed 3130lbs lapped the ring in 7:56 with 400HP, it took the caddy 156 more horses to offset 1000lbs of weight. So... the SS will fall short. I guess the best bet is to get a used z06.

....As for the "myth" concerning ergonomics and versatile interiors...that is purely personal preference (from either those that like them or those that don't). I don't think personal preference can be considered a "myth". Speaking from my experience....the LS1 seduced me, so I sold my 98 Cobra and bought a 99 T/A. Unfortunately, the rest of the car ended up disappointing me, thus I sold the T/A and bought a 99 Cobra. To each their own.
As for handling...my T/A handled well for what I wanted it for.
That said, and based on what we've seen and been told, I'm pretty sure the ergonomics on the 5th Gen would suit me fine. By like everything else (and like what has been preached here - pun intended - for so long by so many) that will have to wait till the car is available to drive.

It looks like the only ones who believe in this 'crappy GM car with a good engine'... are those who are generally cynical about GM cars to begin with. Not you per se, Bob, but some here for sure. Hence, the myth being perpetuated....

Because I expected teh camaro with more power and torque, etc be comparable in the ring just like the caddy was.
Aside to that because it would be a better buy then to have an all around car like the z06 than this new camaro and in some ways I expected to be a comparable performance/price of actual market.
Which means... I rather buy the vette.

:I hope you know, or atleast can see, that it's painfully obvious that EVERYTHING that made the Mustang a "girls car", from fake scoops, to seating position, to exterior design, has been reproduced and copied into the new gen Camaro. That, on top of everthing, it's fatty "girls car" now
