Is that clear enough?

Re: Z/28 = Z06?
Remember when Z28 was just an RPO? 1967.
It designated a high-winding smallblock that was coupled to a manual transmission, and several choice pieces of brake, induction, and suspension.
The Z28, if you want to go back to the roots of the model, was always supposed to be a nimble and light sports machine suitable for competitive driving. Of course it cannot be the equal of the Corvette Z06 in terms of performance, but in terms of it's placement in the Camaro lineup, why not compare it? The Z06 is the cutting edge of Corvette performance: Surely the Z28 should be considered the cutting edge of Camaro performance?
A "real" Z28 would not have eighty pounds of leather seating.
A "real" Z28 would offer low-mass build configuration options, like radio delete and optional A/C.
A "real" Z28 would be equipped with an engine and suspension configuration that is potent enough to assure F-stock dominance in SCCA solo II.

I think we can all stop with the stripper talk. Scott's made it clear on more than one occassion it adds to the price of the car...not just that specific model, but all Camaros, to have options-delete models.
Why design a manual window crank mechanism, etc. etc. etc. and have to work in the labor and assembly procedures for it, when almost nobody buys de-optioned cars?
Its safe to say whatever Z28 ends up being its not going to be devoid of the common creature comforts.

Mainly I don't want to see the scenario where you can't get a Z28 or SS unless you get all of the luxury appointments to go with it.

Re: Z/28 = Z06?
I think any Z06 style Camaro is going to have PW, PL, tilt, cruise, a/c, etc. I fully agree that leather, navigation, premium sound and the rest should be optional, but that should be the case on every model IMO so that anyone can configure an affordable Camaro.

Re: Z/28 = Z06?
Exactly.
I have a question though. If we start adding things like NAV, HUD, 12 speaker sound with subs/amp, etc. like some people would like to see then when do we cross the line over into GTO territory? What is the target audience for the next Pontiac V8? Next Camaro?

Re: Z/28 = Z06?
I don't think content is what blurrs the line. GTO is going to be bigger, more of a GT car. Its going to look more upscale too.
If it takes NAV and HUD, etc. to bring the sales to Camaro, aka if that's what buyers want, I have no problem with them making those things optional. I have faith GM knows how to content a car and keep it from stepping on other products' toes.
