Heck why not go back to 1967-1968 when there were four different trim levels of Z/28 available? (Z28-1, Z28-2, Z28-3, and Z28-4.)

Ok your not telling me anything that I know already.

That's the samething I had been preaching the ZR1 should be top dog, Z28 middle man and the SS should stay in it own division which is the FWD cars Chevy is marketing right now. SS is know as a high performance over the years and should not bump heads with the Z.

 

 

Now let's leave it at that. I know z/28 is high performance and was apart of the Camaro way more than SS, ZL1, and est. And yes I know the ZL1 wasn't a factory productions Camaro from GM it was made by vendors. So like I said your not teaching me anything new. I just want the z28 to be affordable like it has been over the years. And the SS line which is a good line; to stay in their own prospected fwd and truck line up chevy's has to offer as a top dollar producted.

well that could lead you to think that but i still think were to far off from actually knowing i mean this is all just my opinion please don’t take it offensively. i mean to me there is nothing saying there is gone be more then 2 models but i find it more then likely they will offer 3 but besides there making and where there making it we know nothing. why fight over something when nobody really has an idea about any thing.

 

Actually the ZL1 was a factory production Camaro, there was 69 of them made back in 1969. The 4th gen ZL1 was not factory production.

I remember reading that 1996.5-1997 SS had a slightly different cam also, I think that changed with the LS1, but for the LT1 I'm pretty sure they had a different cam. I think the suspension was also different, you could get Bilsteins on the SS but not on the Z28.

 

Im more of a vette guy myself, so dont jump on me if Im wrong.
The ZR1 was the 385/405(later) 89-94 (IIRC) super vette.
The ZL1 was the aluminum 427 available for a couple years on the early camaro and vette.
