Man, think of it this way, would you like a 500+ HP car with the new car smell and everything or get someones used up car. I would go with the z28 or just save up enough for a new Z06. Good topic but thats my input.

Thanks for all the interesting input guys....great conversation....
And to Gunion, yes, this is a real debate I'm having. I'm 41. I've owned my GTS Viper for 12 years now, and at one point it was my daily driver for 2 years. Now, it is a weekend toy, and I drive a 5 speed Solstice as my daily driver along with my 6 speed Z28. My wife has a sedan for our family car. The Z06 would be a more realistic daily driver than either my Solstice or the Viper was.
I love ALL killer cars....So to me, since I am looking to spend $50,000 on a convertible Z28, why wouldn't I then consider spending the same money on a 2 year old Z06? My daily driver right now is a 2 seater with zero storage space anyway.....
The other option I'm considering is to sell the Viper and put that money toward a ZR1. The ZR1 is $103,000, the Viper is worth $55,000 so that would leave me with a loan amount close to what I would be buying the Z06 or Camaro for....$50,000. I would then keep the solstice as the daily driver.
So, I can have either:
Camaro Z28 convertible LSA daily driver and GTS Viper
or
2006 Z06 daily driver and GTS Viper
or
2006 Solstice daily driver and ZR1 Vette
Any of the above scenarios put me with one car payment on a $50,000 loan.
Opinions??? Advice???

I'll be making my decision once we start hearing the official line-up and pricing.

Interesting point....
I do not fit with the Viper crowd at all. They are the kind of people that own the obnoxious off shore cigarette boats on local lakes...wear Hawaiian shirts and $10,000 watches to club events. I always end up hanging out with the Camaro crowd. My kind of guys. Fortunately, there are also a lot of good Vette guys too (and a couple of nice Viper guys!).....

Wifey and I are kind of lucky. For me Corvette>Camaro, so I got a vette. For her Camaro>Corvette, so she's getting a Camaro. Now I like Camaros, and she likes vettes, so we certainly appreciate the other's interests, and this way, we both get what we want, and if we want to trade, the other person will still be happy.
To answer your question, for ME, I'd do the Z06. A lot of these owners are FANATACAL about the upkeep on their cars and you won't have problems finding MINT low mile examples to choose from on the used market.

I am not saying a supercharger will give only you 50hp+ I am saying just because CTS-V gets that much doesn't mean the Camaro will get it too. I never seen that big of a jump between the SS and Z/28 that’s a 150hp+
