I probably would have gotten more in my fatigues but I don't really like playing that card just to get what I want...People feel compelled to treat you well when you're in uniform but you're not really getting an accurate picture of what they're like...plus I've noticed it always puts people on edge, you know?
On an aside; as far as Im concerned, I do try to treat people in uniform or serve with more respect. Ive never served myself, but I try to appreciate those who have and as far as Im concerned have earned it.

Scott, thank you so very much!!!
For everyone, what a class act Scott is. If everyone else at GM is just half as passionate about what they are doing, as Scott is, then GM has a bright future ahead.
As I e-mailed him back, I think it is fantastic that we can once again have Camaro and Mustang debates. The world is, once again, on its correct axis.
If all the people at GM take actual consumers issues, as seriously as Scott does, then this last year will never repeat itself.
Thanks again Scott, for helping to restore the faith.

I was talking with Z284ever (as my comments about the Camaro were mentioned at the start of the thread) that the G8 isnt more 'nimble' than the Camaro - its just that the G8 gives more feedback. I drove the G8 GT back to back with an SS and the best way I can describe it is that the Camaro is fighting the mustang, and the G8 is fighting a BMW. Its like the chassis were both specifically tuned for that (including steering weight/numbness, vibration, etc).
On the V6 Camaro - yes the suspension isnt as hardcore - but the powertrain makes up for it. The DI V6/stick combo gives way more than $23k worth of musclecar grin and even through everyone's seen the car by now, even the V6 still gets rockstar status anywhere it goes. While it doesn't handle like the SS, compared to the base Mustang (espicially out here in the NW with roads torn up by studs and chains all winter long) it has vastly superior manners and feel. I challenge anyone to take a Mustang against our hills of slippery wet pavement over the Camaro. The fuel efficiency to power balance of the V6 is spot on in my book - too bad the G8 didn't get the same treatment.
I make parallels with the Cobalt SS and HHR SS as well. Both perform - and while the Cobalt is planted, solid, and handles - the HHR (once you get past the giant pillars, roof visibility issues, and electric/numb steering) feels like a mad scientist's experiment gone too far where the Cobalt feels conservative by comparison. My brain says a wagon shouldnt perform like that, and a FWD shouldnt feel like it wants to kick the rear end out a little - but it does - in droves - and with the GMPP kit to boost power it just blows my mind.
When the Z28 comes out, I'd like to see it (honestly) shoot for more of the G8 feel. All the reviews I've read seem to be the same story - they love the G8 and talk about how planted and solid the chassis is - and then the same guys reviewed the Camaro and talked about how it felt like it'd understeer or just wasnt as planted as it could have been. They comment "sure the G8 is 4000lb but it doesnt feel like it" and the Camaro "gosh it weighs a lot". Both vehicles can outperform most of their buyers - but how rewarding is the experience? As Cadillac ads said not long ago "When you turn your car on - does it return the favor?"

But to be fair, I also hold the G8 to a lower standard. I mean the G8 is a fullsized, 4 door, 5 pass, sedan. Your expectations are (well mine anyway) that the Camaro should be a FAR more fun drive.

Hopefully the Camaro team get it worked out , even if its just simply offering a well sorted out trak pak avail. on the v6 and SS . That seems like the best of both worlds , then everyone can be happy

Frankly, when that happened, I was too shocked to be much good with my comebacks.
You can be comforted, however, by the fact that this happened at Bill Heard Chevrolet, a couple of years ago. Thus, karma can be a bitch. LOL

I thought it would be a good idea to reflect back on the findings of comparisons between the 2005 Mustang and GTO. I recall a lot of criticism was made of the Mustang's push and less communicative steering... in fact, a lot criticisms leveled at the current Camaro.
FWIW, I dug a comparison of the C&D 2005 GTO vs Mustang GT... although the GTO was thought to have better steering, ride/handling, less understeer and more power, the C&D judges still gave the vote to the Mustang!

Now, the tables have somehow turned and now Camaro is considered by some to be the inferior vehicle?
How ironic it is. But there is no way I would choose a Camaro over a GTO, let alone a Mustang.
PS I thought this thread was most appropriate for my post.
