From what i understand the Malibu is little bigger than the G6, it has the same wheelbase as the impala and is just a lil shorter. Well for what its worth, my LT1 Vert (which is closer to the same hp, and wieght), ran a 13.9 stock. I think this new v6 will be hanging in there with stock GT's.....which will be funny as hell.
Not going to happen. People who own the Bullitt Mustang from last year were running low 13's to high 12's stock, there is a guy here who ran 12.8@106. If people start jumping on this board with the I beat the new GT with my v6 again like they did with the 99-04 it is just going to make them all look foolish, again.

I do believe that mustang had to have something done to it since bullitts only have 315 hp from the factory, no way are they running 12.8 stock. I can see the v6 not keeping up to it, but if a driver doesn't know how to drive, and the v6 driver does, it could be close.

The LS1 which had taller gears was able to be well into the 12s a few times too. My car doesn't break the 315hp mark at the flywheel and I run deep 13s. A better suspension would have me into the 12s for sure.

It is not that hard to do and NO the v6 Camaro will not hold a candle even for the 1 year that Ford uses the 3v in the newer body style. v6 to v6 and the Camaro runs away, but nothing more.

The LS1 F-cars make more power than the new Bullitts do. Don't doubt you could make a Bullitt run 12's with just suspension and tire, but then it isn't stock anymore.

I personally don't think that V8 Mustangs will have much to worry about from the V6 Camaro except at the very occaisional small stop-light race where driver factor and traction will be more important. 1/4 probably won't be a contest.

That said you could always mod the V6. Sky (and wallet) would be the only limit then.

I believe the auto mags - like C&D and MT have gotten 1/4 mile times of low 14's @ 97-100mph for the 5th gen V6 Camaro. And they got in the low 13 sec for the 6 speed manual SS.

Thank you... lol I kept reading about it and being a CAR guy. Not a chevy guy, not a ford guy... I didn't know whether to laugh or tell the people they were idiots. I own one of the types of car in question. If your V-6 beats a GT... You probably just beat a badged Mustang V-6. lol But if you run a 1994-1998 GT I may let it slide...

13.2 @ 106 on a 2.0 60... That's my time stock... Stock tires... And I gotta say I'm no pro driver.

All in all? I like the new Camaro. I do think that they are nice cars, V-6 or not. But I don't like ridiculous claims about any car. That would be like me saying I beat a Z06... Could it happen? If he didn't know I was racing it sure as hell could.

But 14.5-14.8 looks pretty good. I'm going to probably be getting one of these cars soon for my girlfriend, she loves them and deserves something nice. Maybe I'll keep it for myself?

I guess 14.5-14.8 isn't bad. I'm actually pretty happy with those times

My 1996 Z28/SS M6 LT1 stock, ran 14.5@98MPH and was rated at 310HP. Others claimed High 13s, but I couldn't get traction to get my 60' down.

That's about where 300HP puts you on most tracks with most drivers. (Some faster, some slower and lots of individual variables).

I wouldnt expect any more than a 14.5 out of it. The ls3 guys are having troubles with low 13s at our local track.

I would imagine that it would be running a little faster than the v6 camaros. Albiet a few tenths with the weight difference.
