2010 camaro v6 automatic ait issues
Have a problem with lurching/surging while driving. pur it on a odb2 and comes up code p0112 and on a bar graph it shows the intake temp being read at 270 degrees and at 100 degrees. it is jumping back and forth, will sit at one for a second or so and then jump back and forth. Thinking it is more likely a wire making intermittent contact than a bad sensor but where to find the sensor (initially i thought on the side of the intake but figured out underneath it in a hard to get to spot of course. found it by the two wires i believe).
So, how to get at this thing and replace it? we already tried replacing the silenoid and the map sensor, which did nothing for the problem. this was before the obd reading of the bar graph and the discovery of the temp being read at wildly differing temps.
any help?

oh, an addendum to this. the guy at the parts store couldn't find a part for the 2010 so i got one that it showed for the 2011 hoping it would be the same. probably a bad idea but the store is right next door so not a great trouble to switch it out. part has a 2 plug wire connection.

Unfortunately, most forums on this site are dead. Active members are pretty much limited to a few die-hard 4th Gen owners. 5th Gen and newer never really caught on. Not sure where you have a better chance of getting help.
Is it possible that the IAT sensor is integral with the MAF sensor….. just a guess?

ty for the response.
i have been wondering that since he couldnt find one on the books for the 2010 but i have replaced that map sensor 3 times now, last with the oem ac delco version thinking maybe the kinock offs werent working for the car since the persistent engine light, have just started looking at the wiring thinking a near broken wire with intermittent contact ?????????????(which the read on the tester line diagram looked like)

maf sensor, but that is like a foot from yhe actual intake into the manifold. my cousin was saying it should be as close to the intake as possible, still not positive on the location for sure also. maybe on the bottom right at the connect of the rubber ducting to the manifold. if so it is going to be a pain to get at it

You (or your mechanic) need to find a wiring diagram for the PCM. If the IAT sensor is “integral with” (inside) the MAF sensor, is will show it that way in the diagram. Typically there will be at least 5 wires in the harness, to support both the MAF circuit and the IAT circuit. If it’s not a wiring or harness connector problem, the MAF sensor would need to be replaced. The MAF sensor is typically right up against the throttle body, which is bolted to the intake manifold.
Again, I do not have access to the 2010 factory service manual, so I'm just giving you advice on what I have seen in other GM models with the IAT and MAF combined in a single unit. The mechanic should be able to figure this out.

Hey! It looks like you're dealing with an air intake temperature (AIT) sensor issue. If you're getting code P0112, it could indicate a faulty sensor or wiring problems. The AIT sensor is indeed located under the intake manifold, making it hard to access,To replace it, you’ll need to remove the intake manifold. Make sure you have the right tools and time for this job. Also, check the wiring for any damage. Sometimes just fixing the connections can solve the problem. Good luck!
