Why no DI LS3?

The only V8 engine program that I know of that's on hold is the Northstar replacement. As far as I know, the LS engine program is still alive and well.

When you see the price on a base SS, you'll think twice about saying that an SRT-8 Chrysler or Dodge is in the same class.

And then, in a year or two, when you see the power levels and base price on a Z28, Chevy will have class-destroying power on that level too.

GDI was going into the Gen V smallblock, because it requires new heads/intake. The Gen V is now on hold though. Up till now, Gen V smallblocks would have come in two displacements, 6.2L and 5.3L. I wonder if GM is rethinking those displacements now.

Because the Camaro will sell plenty fast with an LS3 and the money is better spent on the Gen V V8s.
