Post 1982 Berlinetta 305 auto, where to start?

I have recently purchased this car and now am wondering what some of you with simailar cars have done or recommend doing. The smong pump has been removed, and the catalitic converter has been cut out, other than that it is completly stock. Please post any suggestions!!!

Does it run good now, How many miles? If a rebuild or 350 is out of the question I would look at the following.

Headers, Catback, air cleaner, Complete tune up, Gears, Electric fan, etc.

Is it a manual or auto?

Sorry didn't notice you said auto. A bigger Torque converter would be good too.

The car has about 170,000 on it but there is a recipt from a previos owner for a 305 crate engine so after doing the math the engine has around 35,000 on it, I also have reason to belive that its on its second transmission because the linkage is off, and what companys/products should I be looking into using...

I don't know what you mean about the carb but hopefully someone does. If it only has 35,000 miles it should run good. As far as brands

Headers - Hedman and hooker and I believe ebelbrock makes them (hooker does not make a y pipe for there shorties)

exhaust - Borla (pricy but sounds awesome) Flowmaster and Dynomax

Toque converter - TCI, B&M, (I bought mine off of Ebay from some guy that custom makes them and sold his big company and retired got bored and now makes them again)

I would first check on exhaust and headers

Always check out summit. If you don't have a catalog get one.

Also if the car has 170,000 miles how does the supension feel? If you need struts or shocks I suggest KYB for the price they are great. Energy suspension bushings will help tighten everything up also.

Yeah, I would imagine that the suspension has seen better days... From what ive been told if the carb, cam, and intake manifold were changed out for ones designed for non EGR that would help quite abit (being the EGR is removed) Summit has preformer series parts from Edelbrok that are supposedevly dyno matched but ive also hear that the Weiad Stealth is a better intake... but getting the body strait and doing the exast/headers would probably do well till i get some more money...
