Question 2.8 t0 350 swap

hey guy's i have a 86 camaro with a 2.8 and i want to drop a 350 4bolt in it. anybody have a list of what i would need to do this swap? it is my first time to swap a whole motor. and will the 700r4 auto tranny hook up to the 350 or would i need a turbo 350?
any info would be appreciated. thanks

the best way would be to get a donor car,

you need,

engine (duh)

different trans, if you want od just find a 700r4 from a v8 car,

radiator

if you go with a th350 you need a different driveshaft, if you stay 700r4 you can reuse the current one

all the accesories for a v8 car, (alternator, a/c compressor and hoses, etc....)

if its gonna be onjected you need the complete, wireharness, and computer for the v8)

motor mounts, you can't just move them they are a little different, and should be replaced anyway

gotta change front springs, otherwise it'll ride like a caddy that needs shocks

i think i got the basics, hopefully someone else can cover anything i missed,

overall its not a hard swap, just a little time consuming, and it will nickle and dime you, because once you think you have it all, there are always little nuts bolts and such

are you going carbed or injected? either way you need some fuel syst. modifications. I can send you some pics of my fuel syst. that adapts the tpi fuel lines to a carburater.

def. get a 700r4 for a v8. dont get th350. the trans itself is cheaper, but doesnt have over drive, has taller(slower) first gear, and will end up costing you just as much to install since you need a drivshaft, special tranny mount, torgue arm mount, new trans lines, conv., and so on.

If you want to turn corners fast, then you need springs, but if your looking for dragracing, the v6 springs are perfect. I put v6 springs in mine cause Im more concerned about straight line perf. and I like the smooth ride.

I have v8 Iroc springs, rad., and single elec. fan. if you want. Im in mi. so you can either come up here or shiping wont be too much.
$40 rad.
$25 fan
$25 springs (full set offmy 85 Iroc)
$40 starter
$120 for almost new 600 cfm holley carb (if thats the route your taking)

i have a 350 four bolt with crane 292 cam and a good set of 194 heads with edelbrock performer intake i will probably go with a 750 carb. and hei distributor. so i will probably only need a wiring harness.i think.

you wont need a wireing harness Im pretty sure. you can just make sure the starter wires are on the pass. side of the eng. (dont know where the starter is on a 2.8L) and the rest should just hook up. only other conn.s are
alt., a/c, oil press., cool. temp. for gauge, dist. wires, wiper motor, and cooling fans. dont think theres anything else. all the wires comoing from the pass. side fender area arent used for carb.d eng.s, thats all ecm stuff. you will need to poss. wire the fuel pump. the wire for it is in the drivers side kick panel area. I wired mine to be on all the time w/key on.
