305 Dyno Numbers..
Well...Our local Motown Muscle Car Club( www.motownmuscle.com ) teamed up with Automotive Performance Engineering here in Michigan and had a killer dyno day. A lot of LS1 cars, a couple LS6 Vette's, stock cars, Heads/cam cars, an 03 Cobra, an 89 Turbo T/A, a MAch 1 Stang...etc..
We all had 2 pulls for a decent $50 price on APE's Mustang Dyno so I didn't mess around with N/A Pulls... Weather was roughly 55 degrees, Humidity was low.
Tuned VERY rich with a Nitrous Express setup jetted for 150 HP, my little 305 did as follows:
290 RWHP
375 RWTQ...
HP peaked at 4400 i believe and TQ was at 4000
Stock 305 TPI long block
Stock 700-R4 Trans
Stock Converter
3.73 Gears
1-3/4" SLP Headers and Y pipe
NGK 1 step colder plugs
Accell race wires
3" 2 Chamber 40 series Flowmaster dumped before axle
Edelbrock Performer intake
Holley 600 CFM Vac. Secondary Carb
Nitrous Express Stage 6 Plate Setup
Proform low buck Distributor
Mallory 3 Port regulator controlling carb and Nitrous @ 9 PSI
TBI Air cleaner hacked to fit underhood
4" Home Depot Style Cold air Setup(Actually works GREAT)
Computer still controls guages
Stock fuel pump and lines-Wired to come on with ignition.
I think it's ok for a stock heads/cam..never had the valve covers off kind of setup, right?? There's a lot more in it but I am just glad that it's holding together nicely. Can't be TOO greedy ya know? If we do another dyno day, I think I'll lean it out a little and run an open exhaust, might add a set of 1.6 Crane roller rockers that I've had laying around for a while from the last car....
No track numbers yet but latest "testing" shows that it can put a 13.0 @ 112mph LS1 car to shame on the highway from 40-120 4 cars worth of shame to be exact. Wish me luck, I'm hoping for mid-high 12's!

Actually if you consider they were rated at 215...and the drivetrain loss with the automatic...and consider that the car has huge headers on it, an extremely rich/safe tune..Timing is retarded a little..It all adds up. On motor alone I bet it would only put down 175 on that same mustang dyno.I'm obviously not getting a full 150 hit because it's getting more than enough fuel. There is a lot more in it with tuning but then things also get closer to the danger zone(corny line huh?)...haha
I'd rather have a safely tuned nitrous setup going 12's(lets hope anyways), than a perfectly tuned car running 14's on motor..Ya know?

What did the Turbo T/A dyno at, and do you know his general mods? I've been trying to find a dyno on a Turbo T/A for awhile and I've never come across one. Would love to see one stock vs mild standard (for a turbo car) mods.
What did the stockish LS1s dyno at? Wondering how this particular dyno compares to others. Wouldn't think you'd pull much on LS1s with only 290/375 at the wheels, unless this dyno reads low consistently...

There are several TT fbodys around here. Depending on how much boost and other mods I have seen from 480RWHP to just over 600RWHP. Like I said there is 6 different TT fbodys around hereI know of. I can't keep up with any of them for now bit I am getting closer.
Denny how is the mods coming. Got all the parts yet?
Mike I would wait and do it all at once.
Jeff you got the ride drivable yet? get the coil overs fixed?
I am hoping to finish mine up this week. If not I don't know when it will get done. I start the treatments this coming Monday so it could be awhile. I wanted to get a few days driving in with around 425 to 450RWHP before starting the treatments. I may have to get one of you guys to take me for a ready once in a while till I get back on my feet. If I get the car done maybe we could take it.

it Jim's Turbo T/A had some problems on the dyno. His first run spiked 23+ PSI so they got out of it. His second run at 18 PSI was very inconsistant and they shut it down before redline. He mentioned a bad O2 sensor because he had 110 leaded in the tank. I believe he just has exhaust mods, ported turbo/intercooler parts and not much more. I guess 's on the verge of 12's with a 13.0X run last year so it's not bad for what it has. Honestly, I was looking forward to seeing some good numbers from him too amongst all of the stockish LS1 cars in attendance that day.
Stockish LS1's all day both vette's and F-Bodies were putting down 285-305RWHP all day. The kid I actually ran put down 308HP/325TQ earlier in the morning that day. He has a lid, exhaust, 6 speed, and maybe ported MAF ends. Not much. He was as suprized as I was and I guess this week he ordered the whole "Bells and whistles" Nitrous Express Wet kit. He plans to hand me my *** ASAP. haha
Chris, Money is still being saved and the more I save, the more options I seem to have(bigger and better obviously). Decisions are being made and I keep asking the pros what a good combo would be. Big small block-wise I mean, based on a big small block It's tempting to buy a crate big block also. Price would be the same in reality! Bill Mitchell Hardcore Race parts has some smokin deals, as do a few other companies!
