I would avoid Lunati camshafts, I always recommend Comp.

Hey Doug 791,
I see that you also have a 1990 350 tpi, I was wondering what color your fuel injectors are if they are still stock? thanks

yeah you really cant say that because everyone on this board will jump on you for it. Whats your reasoning for it?

114* LSA, 230/236* duration @.050, .545/.555 lift w/ 1.5 rockers. I would want a 112* LSA,
Yeah i think 112 is pretty much going to be optimal because im not cool with this thing killing me with gas. I still have a feeling that with the 383 im going to need something duration wise 24*/25* or would that be getting a little too close to becoming unstreetable? My goals for this car are 600 hp n/a at the crank, with a 383, afr 195's, a mini-ram and a cam somewhere along the specs of what ive sugested. Is 600 hp a reasonable goal? what do you think that combo would come in at? No idea what i want for pistons yet.

I have no idea if theyre stock due to the fact that i just bought the car but i see no reason why they wouldnt be. My car is at a mechanics right now just getting some probs diagnosed but itll be home tonight so ill get back to ya on that one.

I say that becuase they use outdated lobe technology. 1960's technology was cool in the 60's but there over now. I and almost everyone I know uses Comp, GM Performance Parts or Crane. I have one friend with a Lunati Cam in his LS1 (it was put together a few years ago when there wasn't many options) and he likes it but wishes he had a different brand. Just personal preference mainly, and the subject asked for opinions so I supplied mine.

Do you know what the difference is between the old technology and the new technology? I ask simply because i would like to know the difference. And as far as your opinion, well opinions are great and i do want them but someone saying dont do this just because i said so isnt a very valid opinion as to why something is better. If what your saying is true though id definitly stay away from lunati.

Lunati makes plenty of great camshaft grinds. Define out dated...

600 horsepower is not a realistic goal on a radical 383, let alone a street engine that gets decent gas mileage. You need a power adder to achieve what you want. Hell my friend with a gen 1 383 with brodix track 1's, 11.5:1 compression and a solid cam isnt close to 600 horsepower.

With that combo where do you think i would come in at hp wise assuming i was hanging around 10:1 comp.
