MY91Y84, awesome exhaust, I think i'm gonna end up doing my exhaust like yours, then i don't have to fab anything over the axle....does your exhaust get annoying at all, cuz its exiting right under your seat? i guess i would kinda just like a review on that setup, becuase my car is a summer daily driver, and I dont' want to get annoyed within a month, i can stand loud, but extremely loud to the point where i can't think, i can't stand that..

I am thinking of doing a dual exhaust as well, but I won't be doing it like that. No offense but that does not sound good at all!

Re: 3rd gen true duals

its the easiest way of doing it....i was gonna do it the other way, but its 100 bucks just for mandrel bent axle hoops...then i would have to fab up a whole bunch of other pipe, plus you need a panhard bar relocation thing for 200 bucks, when all is said is done, you'll have 500 bucks into your exhaust easily...I was thinking of just running long tube headers, have 2 pipes on either side of the driveshaft, and just run it back and dump them right before the rear axle, and line the whole interior with sound deadening....i think thats the way i'm gonna end up going...i hope i get enuf ground cleareance...

Thanks...i dont think its annoying at all...ive drivin over 500 miles at one time and never was overwelmed..the turndowns really help alot to so dont forget those..it quieted it down quite a bit aswell...wheni first got it goin i didnt have any turndowns and it was ALOT louder and really vibrated the entire floor..now since the exhuast is pointed out/down its not that bad...theres a littl drone around 2 grand but thats just the mufflers...i have no problems carryin on conversations with passengers at any speed or RPM..as far as ground clearence it could be a bit better...right now the only thing that scrapes are the turndowns..so a little grinding will take care of that...i bought this exhaust from my buddy who had it on his strip 86Z so he idnt have to worry about it...a little heat to the pipes and some coaxing to the floor board will add another 2-3 inches..

thats cuz your used to hearing dual exhaust with a crossover...which i do not have...when i film it from the side your basically hearing only 4 cylinders...i filmed it from the side to get rid of the base so you could hear the lope to it..from the back the pulses from each bank of 4 "mix" with each other...trust me it sounds ALOT better in person..it really pounds and thumps more people then i can count have when they hear it...that noise which you describe as "does not sound good at all" is what i like to call lope...no offense taken, becasue you havent heard it in person or your opinion would definetly be different

Re: 3rd gen true duals

i was laying under my car today, and since i'm not puttin my rear seats back in, i figure if I customize the bottom of that seat pan, i can put the dual mufflers right there, and i'll hardly loose any ground clearance..i'm also puttin abotu 3 layers of sound deadener on the interior...thanks, i was afraid it was gonna be too much, but from the sound of it, its bearble...

Even at 500hp a 4" mufflex system would be a perfectly good exhaust.

Besides pure race cars with big-inch big blocks, a true duel exhaust isn't really needed in a 3rd gen.

Re: 3rd gen true duals

Well true duals arent really needed in any application then. To say true duals are not needed on a third gen is retarded. Its the motor that counts, not the gen camaro

Yeah, who wants free-flowing, better breathing exhaust on their car to begin with???
