Thumbs down 86 coolant temp switch

Why is a coolant temp switch 80 bucks for a trans am?
I go to all the auto parts stores and they have a one **** temp switch. Now what comes on mine is a two **** temp switch and its bosch switch that comes stock on mine.
Does anybody know where i can get one for cheaper or something. Thanks

Well, the problem is that our cars run so damn hot all the time. These switches don't last a year if even that. I got tired after 2 in less than a year and just rigged up a manual fan switch to keep the temps down until I could get another one installed. I usually keep the fan on all the time around town, but I leave it on auto on the freeway. Its a really simple mod and you can do it yourself with some wires and a switch. I think I found one for around 40 bucks once. Hope that helps bro!
