well we can finally put this on to rest the engine in my car is a 350 that the guy had to order and after talking to a guy at the dealership vortech heads could be a option that was avalible in other states out side of california. so that's why it showed up on my vin. another day in the life of an 89 irocdriver. oh thanks for that last post.

the vortech heads didnt come out until the mid 90's so they definately were not an option in 89. that would not show up on your vin. if you decoded the engine id # then maybe it was replaced with a 350 vortech. but by no way would your vin tell you that there was a vortech engine in your 89 iroc! i dont care what state the car came from i dont think it came with mid 90's technology in an 89 body.
