89 Iroc with T-tops

89 Iroc with T-tops
I've got a friend that recently bought an 89 Iroc with T-tops. He said it has the original motor in it and says it is a 350 TPI. I thought I read somewhere that the T-top option could only be had with the 305 motor. I could be mistaken. Can anyone shed some light on this?

90-92 L98's could not be ordered with T-tops, this was due to slight bump in HP with the switch to MAP and GM worrying about the torque being too much for the F-body t-top chassis. No dealer option, no nothing. Notice beginning with the 4th gen F-bodies, all cars were designed around T-tops, rather than a hardtop being cut into a t-top.
So, 87-89 L98s with t-tops are very common.

I had a friend who had a 91 Z28 L98 car which had t-tops on it. & they were Dealer optioned. She had all the paper work about it as well. (but somehow when she traded the car in for a 00 Vette the paper work got lost
& the dealer told everyone it was FACTORY ordered t-tops )

I would have loved to bought an L98 car with T-tops. It basically came down to me making a choice between T-tops or an L98, naturally I chose the L98. I do miss having T-tops though, I had them on my previous Camaro.
