95 Vette LT1 into 92 RS?!?!?
How difficult of a swap would it be if I wanted to put an LT1 from a 95 Vette into my 92 RS? Somebody has one for sale localy for dirt cheap, and Ive been wanting to replace my tired LO3 anyway. I know the fuel pump would definetly need to be repaced, but what else? I dont care if I keep my a/c or not, although idealy it would be nice. But if thats not really an option I can live with that....

Go to www.thirdgen.org and look at the message board. There is a motor swap section. The site is down right now, but is supposed to be back up soon.
The swap is not real difficult, but it can get expensive. But, it's worth every penny.

Well you will need a new fuel pump if you did NOT have TPI originally...which if you have an RS, you did/do not.
I have never heard of anyone without TPI installing a LT1 and using a non-tpi fuel pump.
Check out my site. I've helped TONS of people with LT1 swap questions, etc, etc. I've done the swap twice.

to be honest i think it may even be easier than using a camaro/firebird lt1. all the acessories on the vette lts are on the drivers side high so i doing think you would have the clearence issues with ac like us guys using lt1s from camaro do. hey jason i got a question. why cant you just bypass the ac with a different belt. i really need to know soon because im not sure the shop doing this knows about it, and i didnt either. i just figured use a different belt.

You cant bypass the AC with a different belt because of the design of the routing. You can get a 1LE AC delete pulley or you can make your own like I did. I took apart the AC compressor and used the pulley and front part of the compressor to make my own idler pulley. Detailed instructions on how to do it are on my website. I wondered about the integrity of this at first, but it has stood up after 5000 miles and is still working great.

Yep...Vette accessory brackets are the way to go, if you're fortunate enough to get your hands on some. I wanted to do that badly, but never found any, so I said screw it.
I wouldn't waste my time or energy ruining an A/C compressor to make an idler pulley. I'd just buy a 1LE A/C delete pulley for $35 from a GM dealer and be done with it. A LOT easier, cleaner (more than likely) looking and quicker to do. But...that's just me.

There's a not so good pic of my '94 Vette motor at the photo page in my sig. I had to take a month away from the car to do some home remodeling but I'll be back at it on Sunday and hopefully will get some time to update the page as well.
