Alternator wiring question, kinda odd
I have a 93 camaro which I made a custom low mount alternator and power steering setup. I used a alt. from a 92 since it is smaller than my 93.
So I went and picked up a 140 amp aftermarket for a 92, connector is the same as my 93 but just now noticed that it has not been charging since I installed it.
My question is can someone take a look at the alternator connector and tell me first how many wires are in the connector and which terminal is it contacting.
Both my 93 and 92 alts have four electrical contacts points 1 large and 3 smaller.
My 93 only has one wire going into the connector just need to know if your 92's are the same?? Also which exact terminal it conacts out of the 4 that are possible, could be more than one if your 92's use multiple wires in the connector.
Also my alt is good I had it tested it is just not charging since the wiring is incorrect since the alt's voltage regulator is not turning on due to the wiring.
Thanks to all.
