I'm looking to get one, and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how exactly it goes in.

I have a feeling it would bolt right in, BUT...what about the stereo and the HVAC controls, and the power window and power hatch release buttons?

What happens with that stuff? Where does it go, and how is it mounted, etc?

I really want a 4th Gen console so I can have a M6 shift pattern plate among other things (cup holders, etc).

Can you guys help me out at all? Please, if you can! It's greatly appreciated.

I was thinking the EXACT same thing, but nobody seems to know, I dont have the M6, but I just think the console box itself looks retarded in our cars, and I wanted a newer style one. I hope someone answers this time.

I don't know if its a derect bolt in either but the switches can be relocated. All you have to do is re-route the wires to the door. You'll have to cut them and extend the wires for obvious reasons but it shouldn't be that dificult.

As for the HVAC hoses... I have no clue.

actually im pretty sure it is a direct bolt in. The only thing is..you have to get a 6spd console..so it actually has the boot. If you recgonize..in the automatics..they dont have the boot..they have plastic in there. So if you get a 6spd console...then it'll bolt right up. With the switches..well thats where you get to be handy...get out the dremel and get creative...i used to have pics...dunno where they are now. Hope this helps.

Well I know that since I have a 6spd that I need to get a console out of a 6spd car.

But what I don't know about is where the radio and HVAC controls go, considering in stock form, they're a PART OF the center console, and basically bolt to it.

Switches could be relocated, yes...but I've gotta say...that'd be a HUGE PITA!

I'm gonna check out thirdgen.org...and see what I can come up with.

Anyone else?!?!

Well with the 6spd console i dont think the radio and other things are a part of it.. IM pretty sure the console is cut off right about there. Because on a automatic..its got the ashtray up there also...Its completely different. Dont think the radio stuff is an issue...let me see if i can find some pics.

Yeah, thanks! I just need to see one in a 3rd Gen Camaro now, since the dash set up is different (radio not connected to console in Pontiacs).
