To Anyone Who Says Their Camaro Has No Rust!
Yeah so anyways anyone who says their camaro has no rust may want to pull off the fender... look on the firewall in the corner where the floor boards meet... I found lots of rust there... also check under your ground effects (no rust car had big holes rusted through in places) oh yeah also if you are really curios look in the rear wheel wells... just thought I would come on here to depress people..

If you don't find any rust in those spots, check the bottom-side of the lower radiator support. I can't recall seeing a thirdgen or a 4-th gen without rust there. My friend's 99 SS had rust there when it had under a thousand miles on it.

You don't want to use a grinder to remove rust. You'll be bitterly disappointed a year later when all of the spots come back. Grinding does not remove 100% of the rust, even if it looks like it's gone. You need to sand blast.

Every car has some rust on it . The bolts or suspension rear diff ect. I can say my car has very little because I got it when it was new and has been garaged every winter and not driven in rain but a few times.. But if you wash a car it is going to get rust on it.

Yeah thats what it was like after I pulled all the dents on my car... I said to myself... **** I am almost done this thing and there isn't a bit of rust... I then took of the ground effects... as a result the car still isnt' finished being cleaned up and I don't have the time

Has anyone tried to take off the ground efx's on an 1984 Z-28? I need to do it but I am not sure if the bolts that are holding it on will be able to be taken off. Is there a special tool that is needed or can I just use regular sockets or a wrench? Thanks. I would say that I have no rust but if I did that then I would be lieing and as I have been told in the past "Liers go to HELL." Thanks for your help

It is as simple as using a normal socket to get them off... the side moldings you need to take the emblem out of first and then unscrew them from the top and behind where the emblem was... you then lift and take it off..

My car has only seen 3 michigan winters, but it wasn't driven, it was just parked outside in the cold. It had rust in all the mentioned areas, plus in the t-top bracket in the center of the roof. It was the worse in the floor where the front left framerail meets the trans tunnel. I still have to repair the floor, but that should also be done this winter.
