Question automatic swap

Many of you guys out there are swapping out you automatics for manual transmissions. This sounds crazy, but I want to do the opposite. I have a t5 in my 83z and I want to swap in an automatic. What will I need? How difficult will it be? Finally, what auto tranny should I get, and where? Thanks

All you need are the new pedals (if you don't want the third one hanging around) Tranny, TV cable (not the RG16 or whatever it is, TV=Trottle something. I can't remember what the V stands for.)

Get a TH700R4 if you want freeway driving. If you just want soemthing strong as hell, get a TH400. You'll also need a tranny oil cooler.

Everything else that you would buy can be performance oreinted. (ie. shifter, shift kit)

Thumbs up

Thanks for the response, one more question. I got this car not too long ago and it has a Holly card, a double pumper, not sure what model, will this TV cable have a place to go on an after market carb? Also, I may be able to snag an 84z auto car pretty cheap, not sure if the tranny is good, but would the other parts help me out? Thanks

Actually, I'm not sure if the carbs even have TV cable's. They must cause thats what tells the tranny to down shift.

You'll have to look into the manual of the carb or phone up a dealer or something to find outwhat revisions the carb has fitted on it.
