Belt slinging problem...?

Belt slinging problem...?
Friend just put his motor in his IROC (carb'd 385.. built) and has a problem with slinging the serpentine belt.
its got all the stock pulleys etc on it, but has the 1LE a/c compressor eliminator pulley/bracket on it.
WOT and doing burnouts it slings the belt.
He hasnt ever had a problem with this... just started with the new motor.
th350 with a high stall. Revs to 6800. Not sure if it matters, just thought Id throw it out.
The 1LE bracket is plastic and isnt the tightest, so were thinking that is the problem. It was on the old motor (ran low 8s 1/8th mile) and the new one should run mid-high 7s. The old motor never slung the belt...
Anyone have experience with one of the 1LE a/c brackets on a high hp car?

belt slinging prob.s are almost always from the pulleys not being lined up. Id first check to see if the harmonic bal. is installed all the way in. cause thats the only thing that is really adj. in or out. if thats OK, then make sure the belt tensioner is tight, and not loose or sloppy from being worn out. and that there is no in-out motion from the tensioner itself, only side to side. good luck chris
